Forums - Gaming - Unnecessary Activities in Video Games

A lot of these activities that people are listing are actually necessary e.g grinding actually yields you something. It's tedious but is necessary.

Something that isn't necessary is sight-seeing in a racing game or RPG. just going off the beaten path to see what's what.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Awesome thread idea!

- Completing the entire Halo: Reach campaign on the hardest difficulty with no deaths. I even saved all the replays for proof!

- Completing five missions on the hardest difficulty using nothing but the Falcon pistol in Perfect Dark Zero. (I even tried to complete more, but it was impossible due to ammo constraints)

- Beaten all staff ghosts in Mario Kart DS (seriously, there was no reward or anything!)

- Make sure I collect every single supply kit in Dead Space 2, even if that means an additional hour for the playthrough.

- Always making sure that there's room left for new rupees in Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask.

- Do EVERYTHING I can to save the marines from dying in every Halo game.

Collecting shit bores me and I see it as a cheap way to add replayability to games for people with ocd. Collecting gold bars in battlefield, shooting pigeons in GTA, collecting flags and feathers in assassins creed etc. Such a fucking pants feature and very cheap of devs.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

-Going to bed to save on GTA
-Eating hot dogs to replenish health in GTA - more plausible than regenerating health but having to finding a food stand is very annoying
-Den Defence in Assassin's Creed: Revelations
-Zone liberation in Assassin's Creed: Revelations, as it often just trapped you in another den defence sceanrio

-Bomb making in AC: Revelations

-All the different forges in Kingdoms of Amalur

-Pokeblock and Poffin making in the later Pokemon games

making 3 master summon materia, 3 master magic materia, 3 master control (or whaterver that yellow materia is), one for each of my main character

Watching TV and going to strip clubs in GTA 4.

Making all of my characters go to the bathroom whenever possible in Heavy Rain.

Seeing which holes would let me fall into them in Uncharted Golden Abyss (There's a lot of situations where you can't die and I try killing Drake on purpose just to see if I was ever in any real danger).

Following people (online players) around for no reason in Fable 2.

Following NPC's around in Shenmue. Sometimes, they would go home, hang out in alleys, and everything. They had full lives!

Looking for low res twxtures lool

Feeding the fish in Mass Effect 3

Traveling to every hub location in Mass Effect 2 and 3 after every side mission.

Probing every planet in Mass Effect 2 even though I had a billion of each material.

Saving after every fight or when I get to a different area in Kingdoms of Amalur.

Running from one end of the hub world to the other in Sonic Generations before I turn it off.

Getting a Riddler question mark in Arkham City before I turn off the game. Not because I want the Riddle, but because I want to see the game save before I turn it off.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

I tattle everything in Paper Mario games...

Not just enemies, everything! It's the most time consuming activity there is. Every single NPC, location, enemy, item... but hell if I lose a single joke!
