As I've said before, yes Gameloft only does rips of other games, but they do a damn solid job of it.

True. I mean, it's not like Sony, EA, or MS plans on bringing those games to android/ios devices any time soon (although they definitely will eventually).

Besides, a great game is a great game whether or not it copies another game. A game is considereed good based on quality.

if so.... lol at iOS scores. (I know that in general iOS games are rated far too high compared to games on other handhelds)

the psp is horrible for fps games. i didnt read the reviews but thats probably a big reason why it scored so bad.

This is because up to this time, very few console style games have existed on mobile platforms. However, that is changing (as I've discussed in other threads) and throughout this year and especiall next, you'll see the exact same 3rd party games on all these platforms. Then poor gameloft might actually have to make their own IPs or a better job at tweaking their clones to make them distinct.

yeah I know. I've played their Modern Combat 2 game on my iPod. While it is a distraction, it's not a very good one. It got a 90 on Metacritic, but if this game was on PC/XBLA/PSN or even handhelds, I doubt it would've received a single score above 5/10....
The same would be true for racers (if they keep the auto accelerate and limited tracks/cars).

Some iOS RPGs are quite nice though.

Gameloft is truely the king of clones when bringing games to a mobile platform. Zombie Infection and Dungeon Hunter were pretty good games.

Yeah, I've noticed that these sites that review apps/moblie games jizz their pants over any decent looking game. Gaming websites actually have at least some set of standards.
