I think it's more like: "Hey, casual gamers! How nice of to come aboard the Wii! Now, would you please stay here for a moment while I go and get back the core gamers who went to the other systems."

Right, and we see what a good idea it was to make them wait with the 3DS.  Things worked out really well for Nintendo last year, didn't they?

I don't see your point. It was the lack of core titles (Mario Kart, 3D Land) that kept the 3DS from selling. The casuals just won't buy the system. 2D Mario may get quite a few over the fence (unlike Nintendogs) but most will just play games on their iPhone.

All is well in the hood boys.

What are you talking about? The casuals love anything Mario related. (Except 2D Mario.)

Since when does Mario Kart count as a core title again?

It counts as core and casual. Everyone knows that.

Taken from the OP: "Accordingly, Iwata explained, it decided not to flood the 3DS's early release slate with casual games, instead prioritising core titles such as Super Mario 3D Land, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Ocarina of Time 3D and Mario Kart 7."

It counts as a casual game and thats that. Mario Kart is loved by anyone, that is why it is casual.

No, I'm a "skilled" gamer and I like it, and so have many other "skilled" players. May I remind you that Super Mario Kart started on a non-casual console (the SNES)?

So yeah, pretty black on shite Py.

Edit: That, right there ^^^^, was a typo

As I said earlier, I don't think that they are being very honest.  It's like they say things like this because the casual gamer doesn't read gaming news.  I think that this is incorrect and people that picked up the Wii as their first system do in fact read and might be turned off by these statements..

It's really possible, and that's a fair concern. But to take the words and ignore the actual strategy and argue from a false grounds isn't acceptable anymore (I'm looking at Rol), I'm holding you all to a higher standard guys.

Back to your concern. It's true that gamers can get news of this, but not from first-hand reading. It's usually bigger media outlets I believe that can transfer this information to them through less gamer, more mainstream channels.

Nevertheless, E3 is only a month away, and by then what we as gamers know will be touted on the rooftops. All the games the casuals ever wanted will be on the WiiU. It will be awesome.

You know they'll be there for launch, you know E3 is just around the corner, so why the pouty face?

No pouty face for me.  As long as I get my Nintendo games I will buy it.

I just think that their strategy isn't wise for printing money and that is what business is about.

Apparetlty for nintendo it is, same wit mario3d land.

If their definition of core is that i dont think poeple will have to worry a lot. Anyway when they try to go beyond that then thats when problems will hit the fan.

Why would casuals not love 2D Mario? It was basically made keeping five year old gamers in mind.
