This would definitely be very popular.

Excellent points and I'm sure they would think of ways to prevent utter clutter chaos. Though they might not be against having people buy 500 toys, there must be some form of gameplay solution. Maybe it isn't necessary to have a wide collection. Maybe most pokemon will be in game and only a few exclusive starter pokemon will appear on store shelves.Perhaps the battle will be more skill based allowing you to get by farther with weaker pokemon.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

i'm not even sure it could sell crazy amounts. you'll lose at least have the audience just due to the extra investment required to play. unless you think 5-8M is crazy amounts. i'm sure the profit margin on every action figure sold would be massively high though. |
5-8 million is good for a launch game, but considering the added source of revenue the actual impact would be greater than just SW sales. Just like Skylanders. The pokemon audience will or will not except it solely on the quality of the game. If it's awesome they'll play ball. If it's mediocore rehash...who knows, but that hasn't stopped them on the handhelds now has it?

They are obviously gonna let you use 3DS's as controllers (like how DS worked for Pokémon Battle Revolution), allowing you to witness all the epic Pokémon battles in your living room!!!111!!one!!1!eleven1!!
Seriously though, I don't see this happening. Buying a few toys for your games is one thing, buying hundreds is another. But yeah, I didn't see this whole toy functionality thing happening either.
Oh well, at least the Pokémon cards would be getting some competition.
I wouldn't call it a 'secret masterpiece', rather, 'Nintendo's announcement that everyone has already anticipated since the release of Skylanders'.

I wonder how many pokemon it would cut down if you only needed to first evolution as a physical toy? Maybe it would be a game back to the roots and only deal with the original? That would be an easy solution. The problem though is if it plays similar to catching pokemon to battle, would you have to buy a toy to actually use the ones you caught? I suppose that wouldn't be too bad as long as all pokemon were relatively capable fighters and the pokemon you catch can do things/help you somehow without needing the toy. Yeah, the toys would just train a pokemon for battle. You could still catch them and use them for moves like cut and fly.
Hopefully those pokemon toys aren't expensive, and you get a starter pokemon with the game. You could probably easily beat the game with your starter pokemon and maybe a couple others. So it wouldn't be neccessary to invest a lot of money. The initial game and $5 here and $5 there.

Give me a break okay? I know I'm not the first to predict an HD pokemon for Wii U, but I haven't heard too much talk on using the RFID for pokemon specific.

Or perhaps: "Gotta Spend It All!" =P
Personally I hate this idea, don't really like incorporating these toys with games.
But I do wish for a true NEW pokemon tittle that brings the world of pokemon to a more modern setting with a new gen look ... well a man can dream xD
