I think people do know abotu FF VII but not everyone knows Cloud and Sephirot. I wouldn´t if it wasn´t for this thread

1n 2008, while in Japan, I went to many video game stores. One in particular had an endpiece devoted to Squeenix. I dug up the post where I provided a picture, and it turns out I was mistaken -- it didn't have its own shelf, just a shelf's worth of it spread out wherever.
 Please observe how much shelf space Final Fantasy VII is getting. That's right. Final Fantasy Fucking SEVEN! That game is more than a decade old at this point, even for the International Version, and it's getting as much shelf space as X, X-2, and the X and X-2 International Versions combined. Or, quadruple the shelf space of Crisis Core. I know it's a popular game, but come on. That's just crazy. |

Holy crap that is quite a lot!
Also, I'd like to chime in my thoughts on this topic for a sec. Final Fantasy VII truly is one of the most popluar RPGs out there, if not the most. Sephiroth and Cloud have become universal gaming icons. Now, it's not my favourite Final Fantasy, but there's no denying it's crazily popular. I'm certainly shocked there's people in here that haven't heard of Cloud and Sephiroth.
Now for a lazy attempt to get back to the original topic. Even if Cloud and Sephiroth are in Battle Royale, I still think sales won't get much more than 3 million unless there's a PS3 bundle.

I think the evidence is there, if Sony gets Sephiroth and Cloud in PSAS, they can get 800K sales in Japan (with Toro's help :P).
Then you need America, God of War, Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter can help it get to 1 million sales there.
Then its just Europe, Uncharted maybe, but LBP will help with sales here, 1 million is doable.
With all that, you can easily get 3 million with legs, but Japan is key.
I think that 800 thousand million sales is a little optimistic, Tedd.

It may still be quite big in Japan, but I think in other regions, it has lost a lot of popularity.
But anyways it's in japan that PABR has a boost to gain, so yeah FFVII would help a heck of alot!
