ME!!!
At least I didn´t know them till today. When I googled cloud i got Microsoft Cloud but Sephirot is apparently a Final Fantasy Chracter.
Final Fantasy VII is the highest selling FF game to date.

It's also one of the most critically acclaimed. It scealed the deal for 3rd party support for Playstation at the expense of Nintendo in the PS1 days, very critical moment in the history of video games.
Now that you know about it, you should play it, as well as FF VIII and IX if you're okay with playing RPGs
It is also the only Final Fantasy game to be so heavily sponsored and influenced by Sony, money, marketing and vision-wise.
Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale will outsell Smash Bros

Come casual gamers and buy this game which is based around a bunch of characters from hardcore franchises you probably haven't played? |
Isn't that the point of having a large and vaired character roster?
Ok sure, not even some of the most die hard Playstation fans may be able to recall every character in the game, but I'm sure even the most light hearted of Sony gamers will recognise one or two of the characters on the front cover.

Thats not true at all, I was here when the LBP hype was in full swing and it was in almost unanimous agreement among many PS fans that game was sure to be an 8 - 10 milion seller........

And don't worry, few of us knew who Ness was when Smash 64 came out, even less Marth, Roy or Mr. G&W when Melee released.
To be fair though, it will be much worse with PABR, but that makes it that much more of an exciting surprise in my view.

Since when did thread titles have to have questions in them?
I'm just stating my opinion about a game, if you don't agree post why and if you do then that's great, but if you want a thread with questions go check out my true or false thread or have you ever thread ;)

for just one or 2? It will NEED that most of the roster to be pretty recognizable for them to care, that's how the smash franchise pull it out. The first smash had pretty recognizable face with the exception of Ness and maybe C.Falcon(2/10) in melee it was like 8 characters that people might have been wondering about (8/25) in brawl probably was 12-13 (13/35). Almost all the tim 2/3 of the roster are very popular faces. Add to this that the difference in popularity between west and east respect sony's ips, and you have quite a challenge there to attract anyone else that isnt a real sonyfan. This where 3rd parties come in hand, but i doubt they will have a real meaningful effect if there isnt a lot of fanservice for them.
