That's not intolerant. I want the kids to make the choice of becoming a Christian by themselves. Parents are practically forcing them to follow their religion.

Preventing people from passing on their values to their own children because you feel you know better than they do is the very definition of intolerance. It is certainly more intolerant than someone who would simply want the government to not recognize a homosexual union as marriage.

Children always have the option of rejecting their upbringing. Many do it without such busybodying as you want.

No, they have not. If the children does something that goes against their parents' belief then they will punish it.

And this discussion is about education. In Sweden it is even illegal to educate from a Christian perspective. Science must be the key.

Meh...the word homophobe has been extremely abused and tweaked to allow queers to label and attack anyone that doesn't like them going naked on streets and ruining purpose of marriage. So you really gotta ask yourself, if by homophobe they mean its original and true meaning (aka FEAR of gays, because PHOBIA means FEAR) or their twisted abused and bigoted definition of the word

The purpose of marraige is to trade property for other property. Typically livestock was traded in exchange for a man to gain exclusive sexual access to a woman. There is absolutely nothing religious or sacred in the origin of marraige. NOTHING. Going by the rest of your ill informed and misguided rant, I take it that you obviously have no idea what it feels like to have to worry about discrimination. Never having to fear a group of people who are hostile toward you for a bullshit reason. Never having to struggle daily with the pointless hatred and judgement of others.

Hint: the children will not be children forever. When they are legally responsible for themselves and living independently, their parents have no say over what they do anymore.

And yes, I'm well aware of how vile Sweden is on this subject: the all-knowing, all-loving state should decide what other people's children are taught and what they are not taught.

comparing abortion to masterbation is... well idiotic. abortion is the termination of a fertilized egg. that means, it has its own DNA, its own life processes. masterbation, is your own freakin sperm, your self. nothing different than spitting. abortion ends a pregnancy. guess what, in all of history, no person has ever got pregnant with anything else other than a... wait for it... human! its not sperm, its not an elaphant, not a tumor, its a freakin human being. the moment it becomes fertilized, it becomes its own life, seperate from the mother. it has a different genome from the parents, its own cell division and specialization. Science constantly proves, it is a seperate living species from the parents. and as seeing as noone has got pregnant with anything other than a person, it pretty much narrows it down to what it is. A human being.

Sperm too has its own DNA, and so does the egg. It's not a human being if it's not even aware of its own existence yet.

yeah... your own.

so a new born baby isnt a person.  a person with a mental handicapp that possibly doesnt no they exist isnt a person. i college grad who doesnt believe in absolutes, and cant even say if they for sure exist isnt a person?

Underlined: Then it's already too late. Do you think it's a coincidence that practically every single person in Saudi Arabia is Muslim despite their free will?

Bolded: That is not true, they have simply decided not to teach story books as facts. Empirical evidence is required.

What??? A newborn baby is well aware of its existence. And that mental handicap you're talking about does not exist. The rest is unreadable.

Is it only because parents teach their kids to believe in Islam, or is it because the broader society and culture is so deeply Islamic? Strict, conservative parents don't have a good track record of preventing their children from doing what they ultimately want to do in liberal, pleasure-seeking societies. Teenagers naturally rebel against their parents, and at that stage of life peer pressure is at least as strong as parental pressure.

Besides, the fact that apostasy carries the death penalty in Saudi Arabia should tell you that it is not exactly a free society. If you were going to die for saying the wrong thing about a religion, you might find that you're far less likely to critically examine it, let alone to voice any criticisms you might have of it.

Yeah, instead I have to deal with:

- Affirmative action: Some black guy less qualified than me will probably get the job just because of skin colour, since this is clearly the way to make things equal and makes more sense than "best man for the job"

- Reverse Racism: It's perfectly fine for a black guy to call me a cracker/honkey, but if I call him the n word (it's funny how I'm even afraid to write it out in a forum like this in fear of a ban) then I'm the racist

- Having my tax dollars go to support Native Aboriginals (A Canadian problem, not sure if it's similar worldwide) who don't pay taxes themselves. They don't work at all and have high rates of poverty, and the white man has to pay for it. A lot of them are alcoholics and/or addicted to oxycotin. And although it's their own fault, the white man gets blamed because we "stole" their land 400+ years ago, and another excuse/cop out they use is the residential schools we put them, the last of which were shut down over 20 years ago...but were being phased out way before that. Also Natives get better treatment in the criminal "justice" system, people of aboriginal descent are by law to get lighter sentences and avoid jailtime whenever possible.

Yeah I have to deal with all this shit since the generations before me were racists and owned slaves. I had nothing to do with it but my generation is suffering the consequences.

I used the worst possible example and you found several ways of criticizing it. Had I chosen the US instead there would be less ways to criticize. And then at the bottom there's the Nordic countried which you can't criticize.

A secular society is the optimal society.

I would have pointed out that people are steadily becoming less religious in the US without such repulsive government intervention.
