That's an awesome card, but it will be no where near any next-gen hardware. Too new, too expensive, too much heat, too low yield, etc.

When I think about the price of just this card, its crazy to me that people buy these so early. I guess that can be said for any new tech though. There's always a person that sees value at some price point.

Some people want bleeding top end stuff.

Noob: Sup bro I can play Batman with 124 fps with my SLI GTX 680s

1337sauce: Yo bro, that is weak sauce!  145 fps with my SLI GTX 690s!  Only cost me about a grand more!

(made up numbers)

I never saw the point to go over 80 fps unless its certian cutscenes.

Now I remember what I was thinking of when reading this thread. The high end single card solution released last year, no not the GTX 590, nor the AMD 6990; The Asus Mars II single card gtx 580 SLI solution!

It was called a gtx 590 since it was clocked at the standard gtx 580 speeds (gtx 590 was severely underclocked compared to standard gtx 580's), took up a massive 3 slots in your computer and retailed for the low, low price of $1499! $1499!

Next to a gtx 520, hehe.
