Forums - Sony - FFVII is a great game :)

Yeah looks like they spend $100 million for the entire year not just FFVII. Anyway I think Sega also spend a mega ton of money for advertising the Dreamcast just don't know the exact numbers anymore but it was in the news during the launch period. Also Activision spend more money in adds on the last couple of COD games then they spend on developing the games.

Well I do remember that FFVII had one of the most high-profile commercials EVER for a video game at that time, and there were posters and displays everywhere for the game when it was released. Only games that came close to that amount of advertising in that era were the original DKC on SNES and the launch of Mario 64 and the N64.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

My words no good enough?

Apparently no

Those were some awesome times in gaming. The times that jRPGs were the big thing like FPS games are now.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.
