Releasing some major software for it in the west would be a good idea. So far we had console style titles (Resident Evil, Metal Gear) which don't sell well on handhelds and a Kid Icarus game that didn't exactly set the sales charts on fire. At the same time Japan is getting flooded with great games. Luckily a lot of the 3rd party stuff will be brought to us in summer. Oh and Super Mario, of course.

Back to topic now: Nothing unexpected, really. The smaller than expected loss is nice but comes after them overestimating their performance for what - 3 years straight? One would expect them to avoid another bad estimate in such a case.

Really? Vita sales is of course worst than 3DS but if you compare the first months of them... I see little difference (~800k).

these sales don't create a good picture for the industry as hole :/

3DS needs to pick up outside of Japan, Wii is nearing death now, DS might be alraedy there :/

Vita sales are bad... how bad? I don't know yet... I'm waiting the Sony numbers for a better view.

Anyway what the bad vita sales have to do with the bad 3DS sales??? I'm talking just about 3DS here.

What? I'm saying to you every time 3DS is not selling like you think... it's not OK... it's bad... Vita in the same way or even worst.

I think you're just putting words in his mouth, the 3DS western sales are bad, Nintendo posted them, they are not keeping pace with the DS despite 2 mario games, pretty much sole 3rd party support, a 40% price cut and no real competition.  You bringing up Vita changes the subject to suit you, I dont know what your trying to get at.  He said the Vita sales are bad.

The 3DS is just fine in the West, but as scrooge said it so well, more Western handheld games would boost the system. It's being flooded in Japan with great SW, now the same needs to happen stateside and in Europe imho.

Plus, the DS gets a major boost in 2006, 1 to 2 years after launch, so if the 3DS wants to track as well, it needs to improve as the DS did

Nintendo is not the bible of sales... It has only become so here due to The Source and his massive reliance on them.

They do not track the globe, nobody does.  Shipments however do supply the globe.

I'm sensing that you know Nintendo isn't going to show those missing 360 sales numbers.

I'd be very, very surprised if they did.

Really? I was expecting them to. Otherwise, we have NPD, famitsu, media create, nintendo and others, but missing 360s somewhere.
