Forums - Sony - Don't worry PSVITA owners, Huge games in development.

I always figured it was going to start getting an influx of good games anyway. People need to realize the system just launched a month and a half ago. Just how many great things did people REALLY expect to be ready at the start? And for launch games, they had pretty impressive ones. Sometimes, I think people just expect unrealistic things of Sony.

So far between my PS3 and PSVITA I have my hands full. So for me there are enough games for the VITA right now (considering it recently launched).

I have Uncharted: GA, UMvC3, Escape Plan, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus.
I am planning to buy: Resistance:Burning Skies, Gravity Rush, Silent Hill:BoM; Dragons Crown, MGS:HD collection.
Maybe buying: SFxT.

I think most people expected more games to be announced or released by this point, specially after their "over 100 titles in development"

No, no one expected "more" games. There's plenty of quality titles available right now.
People (me included) expected more sellers. And that's the part where vita's lacking! Games that drive the masses.

Sounds like the PS3 all over again, seriously its Sony there's going to be some awesome games on it eventually.

The big (read MASSIVE) problem is that the PS-Vita doesn't have the XBox 360 and PC to cross release games for, lowering the risk to developers/publishers.

While we can't know for sure, I doubt many publishers would have continued supporting the PS3 as heavily in the previous generation if it maintained its sales and the XBox 360 and PC didn't exist. Realistically, the PS-Vita has an uphill battle to match the performance of the PS3.

lol Sonys got the most first party studios then microsoft and nintendo combined, theres a good chance one of those companies will stike gold with one game. Even without third party (which will obviously come over time, just like the PSP) theres going to be a good list of first party games.

I tought that was implied withing the "expected more games", but you are right needs more sellers or more quality games that arent niche.

I don't doubt there will be good games, but it takes far more than a handful of good games to make a platform successful ...

In relation to a discussion that was on this site earlier, Sony may have the most studios but still gets less first party success than either Microsoft or Nintendo; the reason for this is that a large portion (possibly half) of Sony's studios produce low quality games that don't sell well.

Well Sony would have to be really stupid to have not been shouting at Sqaure Enix to get working on Final Fantasy, so while it is not out of the question, the games will come of course

What I really want first of all is for them to bring across UMD passport, or at the very least allow me to play my PSone games on my Vita, or else I am going to run out before too long

See that is why I am still on the fence about the Vita purchase at this time. It doesn't seem to have strong enough library for my tastes. The main reason for me to get Vita right now is PSP titles and Gravity Daze, and I need more than that.

Between the 3DS, PS3, and even Wii (Xenoblade, and Last Story), I really don't seem to have strong reason to pick up the device, but as soon as one of the said big titles is announced and RELEASED, it will be a no brainer for me. (I'm not into Western Titles on the handheld).

Yeah, I totally agree, I have been encouraging my friend to buy a PS3 instead

Off topic but seeing Cold Light's avatar followed by Kitler's avatar made me smile.

On topic, it's good to hear. Hope there's more to do on Vita than play fighting games (MvC3, SFxT, MK) in the near future.

Are you trolling, dude? There's a lot more to the Vita than just  fighting games. It's also an alarm clock that has MS Paint.

I never did give you your props for that "system seller" comment you made in that other thread.  Had me laughing out loud!
