Forums - Gaming - Square Enix teases The World Ends With You sequel!!! (OH MAN)

Tagged games:

Wonderful news. I just hope they keep the art style and the awesome soundtrack. The game left a lot of questions unanswered so I felt it could have a sequel. The real seller for me was the combat style. Nothing beats that badge system they had. It was truly awesome. This generation alone, it's my 3rd favorite game, behind Persona 4 and Xenoblade.

Ha, I think I'm going to replay it again for old times sake. Love this game :D

I've always wanted to play The World Ends With You but for some reason I never got around to it. I've heard nothing but good things about it....except for from ajescent....

Well I can see the reasoning. It wasn't a tradiational RPG type of combat. You used the stylus to make your attacks happen, like swipping it across the screen would do a wind-cutter, or dragging it brings fire or something, and it also had its difficult moments but it had a really rewarding system. It's kind of similiar to Kid Icarus in that regard. It just takes some getting used to honestly. Once you do, it becomes a lot of fun.

The game is a piece of trash and that's my honest opinion. The setting must have made people overlook how flawed the battle system and how primitive the progress structure of the game is.

So buy it used...so if I am disappointed, I'm not out of $30-40?

Yeah, you can get it fairly cheap since it's an old game. Probably around 10-20 dollars or so.

I hope it sticks with stylistic and vibrant sprite work.

TWEWY game had its severe problems but the risk/reward system had me hooked. Hands down my favorite DS game.

Really need to play this the first game!

You my friend have commited a crime worthy of capital punishment. Now go get TWEWY, what are you waiting for, your mom to buy you a copy?

Have this game already to be honest, but I have shit load of games that I have that I need to play, like my Tales of Symphonia and Dragon Quest VIII which even havent been opened from its case ;x.

Those are two of my favorite RPGs, and World Ends With You is better. Skip those fuckers. TWEWY, basically: it has near-perfect game design with brilliant cost/benefit stakes that you can constantly adjust. Atypical and immersive art style, sound track, graphics that come together into a game world that swallows you whole like very very few games still can. Consistently great writing, masterfully paced plot; just enough explained and just enough left secret to keep you constanty hooked. Characters develop realistically and there are genuinely emotional moments. And best of all--it's unique. It's a totally fresh experience that even super jaded RPG fans will be wowed by.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Of course. That's the premise for the game: something based around the prevalent japanese urban/youth aesthetic...which is why trends, pins, etc are also such big gameplay elements.

I hope so! The first game was great, so a 3DS sequel will be nice!
