Forums - Microsoft - Update: Dead Space Story Producer Clarifies Criticism Towards Gears of War

Doesn't really seem like a clarification, more of a: ''Yeah, everyone's calling out on me, so I'll suck up to Epic a bit, but I stand by what I said''

Around the Network

Lol. Back tracking.

The story of GeoW is fairly basic. The script is standard action material stuff with some fun banter at times. But what made it work was the in game STORYTELLING. The way the story progresses while you're playing (and not in the often middling cut scenes) was very engaging in the first and the sequels built on that.

I don't understand why he would choose it as an example of the point he was trying to make when there are other examples that are so much more illustrative of what he means. And his 'clarification' didn't clarify anything in regards to how he feels about the story of GeoW, so that was, for lack of a better term, a fail.

He's not backtracking in the slightest. He said he thought the story was one of the worst in video games but that the game didn't suffer for it. That hasn't changed.

I am having that discussion with my IRL friend all the time, about movies mostly. It's always hard to settle and agree on a particular case wether it's good or bad chease.

In this case I might pick Vanquish from the bargain bin and find out for myself.

You get out there and buy it right now! Right now!

Actually I just did! Came from the store a couple of hours ago where I found Vanquish for only 10 Euros!
