You are lucky Minecraft is going to release on retail so it hurt will the XBLA sales =p... Otherwise it would not be to hard to reach 10 million on XBLA. Also the next update releases this friday :).

Retro city rampage has passed 17k on leaderboards
Dust an Elysian tale will pass 100k this wek..

Going to be a very succcesfull month with big releases :).

It's still an arcade game though even if it's available on retail, so it will still be counted here (as it would be impossible to separate the versions).
Though if most people who don't have their console connected to LIVE are going to buy it, then the numbers here shouldn't change that much.

About Retro City Rampage...
I think it's hilarious how such a small indie developer calls out the XBLA version for selling "much" worse than the other versions even though he only sold 100k copies on 5 different platforms.
On top of that the other platforms (except Wii) had a 3 months headstart and have only sold double the XBLA version. (40k Steam, 35k PS3+PSVita, 15k Xbox, 5k Wii)

XBLAFANS

Of course, it’s important to note that it’s not necessarily fair to directly compare the XBLA release of Retro City Rampage to its counterparts on other platforms. After all, the PSN and Steam versions of the game released in October 2012, well in advance of the XBLA port, providing ample time to establish a commanding sales lead. On top of this, Retro City Rampage included a Vita/PS3 cross-play incentive, and it was part of a PSN+ promotion. Finally, it was also published by Sony on PSN and, therefore, received much more promotion on that platform than on XBLA, where it was published by D3.

Congrats to CastleMiner Z.  I have to say great job once again for this thread.  I'd like ioito find a way to put these on the vgchartz numbers as well as they are likely pretty accurate.

I'd also like to se someone be able to do PSN numbers as well.  Although since people share games it may be a little harder to do.

Also what qwould you consider a good 1st week for a XBLA game?

Well I guess it wouldn't be too hard to get PSN numbers, it's just that the community often doesn't care enough to do some work themselves.
I mean we wouldn't get any leaderboard numbers if mrstickball hadn't done it back then and Ryan Langley wouldn't do it right now.

To follow all games as a normal gamer would be near impossible, so either you get the games as free copies from the publisher or company you're working for or you split the work and that is IMO the simplest and best idea.

For your question, it really depends on the game. I think any game that sells over 200k during its life is at least somewhat succesful. Therefore FW don't have to be huge (at least they didn't need to a few years ago).
Terraria did 128k FW and that's a great start. In comparison BattleBlock Theater seems rather low. But XBLA is not as front loaded as the retail market.

Personally I think every game that starts with ~40k FW has a very good chance to make the list within a reasonable time.

yeah it "should" be quite obvious that a 3 months difference is quite huge considering it's just been on the market for 6 months on these other platforms and missed out the holiday season on XBLA.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition for retail delayed until June 4

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition will not make its originally announced April 30 launch, with Microsoft announcing today that the retail version has been delayed until June 4. Microsoft's Major Nelson notes the delay is to "include the very latest content."

We've reached out to Microsoft if this will impact the June launch in Australia, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Singapore and Taiwan. We'll update if we hear back.

Fez sells 200k units !

"Since it came out last year, FEZ has now sold 200,000 units on XBLA alone. Which is completely fucking crazy when you think about it.

Thank you for that!"

There is a total of 90974 on Battleblock Theater leaderboards.
