Yeah but Alan Wake was a new IP. Red Dead already had game and it was also made by Rockstar, you know the guys that made GTA. So it was going to sell like crazy regardless. But yeah, not a good move by MS.

This move however? It's a week between games, and also the best selling IPs on the 360 in It's life time.
Look at VGChartz numbers.

Black Ops 13.27 Million Copies
Halo Reach 8.92 Million Copies

Reach has had bundling, but even before it sold pretty damn well the same year Black Ops came out. Again, It's just going to force a lot of people to buy two games instead of one in November, or skipping over another game. So it would be suicide for most companies now to release any game outside of those two in November (for the 360) IMHO.

COD is losing its selling power anyways.

And Halo 4 will be the best selling title so far in the series.

So what's the problem?

That delay was annouced over 2 months in advance. Possibly not enough time to alter things for MS?

While I don't feel COD will really have any bearing on Halo 4, why do you think COD is losing it's selling power?

MW3 is the best selling in the series, by quite a distance.

if halo and COD release back to back that could maybe be true.   i'm sure MS will be really disappointed to only sell 10 M units of software in two weeks. :P
