Activision also put out Lost Treasures of Infocom.

Because graphics are for the goddamn casuals.

I think we might never see OKR ever back here.. spending all his time on those classic text adventures..

and yes for the young ones... there was only a command prompt and you had to type in what you did... like: go left. open door. etc

I just played N.O.V.A. 3. It was my very first "real" gaming experience on iOS/Android. If this is the future of gaming, kill me now.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

FPSes are always popular, but I don't think they've quite cracked how to do it on mobile devices yet. They're playable, but not really enjoyable (many people seem to disagree with me). Morningstar claims to have figured it out. We'll see.

Racing, arcade, strategy, RPG, even third person action games and 2D platformers play much better. I'd think twice before playing a pinball, shmup, or flight sim on any other platform. Not sure if any of those games are as "real" as shooting aliens with a first-person camera, though.

I think iOS games have come very far in quality, and in the case of NOVA 3, close to console quality. And considering you are playing on a phone, it is very impressive. Modern Combat 3 and Infinity Blade 2 blew me away, and its only getting better. It's pretty awesome to think about.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

I recently downloaded Guardian Cross by square enix on IOS, it's a card RPG and very addictive, you collect monsters and send them into battle it's your job to hunt new monsters and level them up to make a more powerful team of "guardians"

Also if your thinking of getting this game when your put your username in (its free) it will ask you if you for an invitation code (optional) if you put this in JE88438 and we will both get a rare guardian card to train up :)
My username is Freebooter if you want to add me as a friend!

Not much this week... still some stuff on sale like SE...

does anyone actually buy IAP?
and I don't mean new chapters or something but for example more money, items etc..

I hate to admit but I do.. some krpgs and shooters like shadowgun.. I actually think its because the game quality is improving that I find it worth a few bucks to get further and better in the game.

Just so everyone knows, Final Fantasy Airborne Brigade is awesome.

Currently ranked 209 overall in the current event and 210 overall in terms of everything else.

Would like to hit Top 100 so I can snag myself a Caius Sword but that's not looking too likely seeing as I won't pay those ridiculous prices just to buy 1 or 2 Turbo Ethers so that I can keep up with the pack.

Seriously, I have 224k CP right now and the leader has over 3M...

Sitting 126k out of a top 100 spot and the gap grows each day despite me and my brigade kicking some serious ass. We are as a Brigade ranked 37 overall.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I do when a game is genuinely awesome, despite compromises made for IAPs, and there isn't a better way to support the devs. Games like Punch Quest. I owed those guys some damn money, so I bought some damn punchos.
