BasilZero said: Havent gotten the game yet but I do plan to do so in the future however would like to ask, where in the whole series does this game take place? I wanna play the series in order (if there is one o.o). |
Different Timelines but some do follow the same story.
Half of the games are Japanese release only tho (anything before FE7), with a remake that brought FE1 to english. The FE3 remake was still Japanese only.
In reality Awakening is set far in the future than its previous games and makes it so that new players should have no problem with the story. At the very least you can pick up the FE1 remake for the DS if you wanna get a background on Marth and his world before Awakening. If your hardcore you would have to emulate a lot of translated games to get the full experience. Either who the various timelines are as follows:
The most popular one that involves Marth's timeline:
Genealogy of the Holy War (FE4)
Thracia 776 (FE5)
Dark Dragon and the Sword of Light/Shadow Dragon (FE1 and its DS remake)
Gaiden (FE2, a side story of FE1 really)
Mystery of the Emblem/New Mystery of the Emblem (FE3 but spilt into 2 Books, Book 1 is a remake of FE1, Book 2 focuses as a true sequel to FE1, the DS remake is only Book 2)
Awakening (FE13, Although has stuff from other timelines as well)
Then you have Roy's timeline:
Blazing Sword (FE7, also known just as Fire Emblem in english, the first english FE)
Sword of Seals (FE6)
A standalone game:
Sacred Stones (FE8)
Then finally you have Ike's timeline:
Path of Radiance (FE9)
Radiant Dawn (FE10)
