Never played Angry Birds and never even saw it. But now I got a little interested. Is it that good ?

"And you can really feel that they’re having fun developing the game."
And this is why Nintendo is dead. Games are not about the developer having fun. At all. Wii Sports was likely the most boring game to make of all time.
He could have said, it's fun. Or, it's accessible. Instead he choses "they had fun making it". And now we know why Miyamoto refuses to make what the market wants. He wants to make what he wants.

That's because the market doesn't know what it wants.

It does. Let's look at the 10m selling games this gen. I've bolded the ones where Nintendo hasn't bothered to do a recent game of that style despite its success
- Wii Sports
- Wii Fit
- Kinect Adventures
- 2D Super Mario Bros
- Call of Duty
- Halo
- Brain Training
- Nintendogs
- Mario Kart
- Pokemon
- 3D Super Mario Bros
- Animal Crossing
So Nintendo's strategy for Wii U, for ANY SANE EXECUTIVE BOARD, would be
Launch games:
- 2D Mario
- Wii Sports sequel with elements of Kinect Adventures
- Call of Duty at least as good as what HD consoles recieve, or self-developed Call of Duty clone improving on it
2013:
- 3D Mario
- Wii Fit sequel
- Halo clone
That is what the market wants. It's not what I want in case you would ask that. Note that an HD Zelda should be much lower priority than any of that, since it doesn't sell nearly as well.

But that launch games list looks like a very likely launch lineup to me. And the underlined was exactly my point, I just used the wrong words for it: The market prefer shitty games over high quality titles like Zelda.

Ah, then we actually agree.
I think Nintendo has lost it so much they will launch without any of those and in fact never make a 2D Mario or Wii Sports-alike for Wii U. Want to bet?

Angry Birds has sold about 200 million units (at $1 apiece), and then been downloaded 400 million times for free on Android.

Sure, why not. New Super Mario Bros Mii is pretty much confirmed anyway and there was a Wii Sports look-alike video sample at last years E3 trailer.
