you got it champ no one is arguing that this isn't lost money because it is, a loss is a loss, but it's not as bad here because the loss isn't because of their business it's because of writing off the tax assets as a loss. They already recorded the 2.96 billion in losses which is directly result of diminishing return on their business, that added to the tax asset they had to write off and you got the total 6.4 billion as seen in the other thread, it's not as bad as if the 6.4 billion was directly resulted to the company like people here would want you to believe. |
Well it is a direct result of the company. Them writing off their tax assets means that they have to completely recoginize their previous losses. There real losses.
The article isn't saying Sony is in a really good position. It is just saying Sony is not down for the count with this loss and they can still turn the company around. It's really gotten down to better organization and management and dissolving some of their lower profiting divisions.
LOL at Sony haters.
Worst case scenerio, Sony stops making TVs or is reduced to competing with small-fries of the TV biz. Sony stops making cameras or is reduced to make quick bucks with cheap affordable avereage nothing special about them TVs.
Even worse case scenario, Sony stops making cameras or is reduced to make quick bucks with cheap affordable avereage nothing special about them cameras.
Best case scenario, Sony drops everything to focus on the 1 thing they're still competitive in: Gaming Division.

LOL at Sony fans.
Always a up side with every bad news. I wonder how many people have ever been a CEO of a multi-billion company.
Well, it's bad....but I do see an increase in sales on the Sony pictures division, as blurry will get a lot more popular when the 720 comes out. Sony should also do better with its handheld compared to the current gen, and the ps4 won't come out overpriced to hell, bc the 720 will basically have the same technology. So there are signs that it won't be an absolute fekkin disaster
They're are losing fake money now? Wow... just wow...
Doesn't that make $20-25 billion they've lost over the last 4-5 years?
Sony loses money from poor TV sales, US government takes away tax credits, Sony not doing well. New CEO, job cuts - workers save company by going through hardship. Shareholders rejoice, profits go up, Vita price comes down... gamers and everyone on VGChartz is happy.
See... things always works out - even if the little guy has to be dumped on.
