Forums - Sony - First Artwork: Nippon Ichi 20th Anniversary RPG

Source: http://andriasang.com/con0ko/nippon_ichi_ps3_rpg/

Dengeki has first details on a new Nippon Ichi game this week. The publisher is readying a PlayStation 3 RPG that it's currently labeling as just "20th Anniversary Title."

This new game has character designs by Noizi Ito. Other staff members include CEO Shuhei Shinkawa as producer and Masahiro Yamamoto as director.

Characters include main character Renya and heroine Ririel. No gameplay details have leaked out yet.

Even with this new RPG, it appears that Nippon Ichi isn't done announcing new titles yet. The publisher will announce another new game in May.

I don't get why Sony don't just buy NIS, they're a great small JRPG dev and they've been very loyal to Sony, I mean, I reckon they'd love to be bought up, especially since it'd mean more funding for bigger and better games!

Pleas no! I don't want that. A lot of titles won't be localized if that happen.

Well people get tired of the 0815 Stuff we had 90% of this Gen
Even some developers, especially from Japan gave up about finding a way to get the Call of Duty Community interested in their games.
They've seen at least in Japan their fanbase is still strong and buy their games and even in the west the interest is growing cause they were so rare in this Gen.
People were interested in Tales of Graces F,Xenoblade and other stuff cause the popular titles(Final Fantasy) that were enough for some were in terms of quality a complete disaster in this Gen.So people who need their J-RPG fix tend to look over to other series that still kept their quality.

i started hating cod games since the first one this gen. from treyarch, and it just went down hill from there.

but still, JRPG dev.'s were late to the party, and this is my most active gen., as i am well informed(10 fold in comparison to the 6th gen, 20 fold 5th gen., and 1m fold 4, 3 and when i was a PC gamer.

i watched someone play FF7, and just didn't understand what was going on, but it was awesome. the first (fantasy star) RPG i played was FF10 (yes i've been very deprived of the greatness of JRPG's from the past) so i was looking forward to being spoiled this gen., but all i get is FF13/13-2!!!

can you imagine how pissed i am?

yea, i love VC, hadn't played star ocean yet, some one stole Demonsouls before i could get to the first check point(imagine how pissed i am), some one stole Brutal legend (yes i consider it to be an RPG. it's something like VC i guess), and the tales games, but late to the party, is late to the party, but they can still get in lol.

JRPG's(my observation) is PS, so they should have been here from jump. no remorse, but i'm still here dammit lol. have you played fire emblem? if so tell me about it!!

Why not? Their games do pretty well overseas especially for such a niche genre this gen, so I'm sure Sony would be willing to localise them...

Things tend to change when studios are bought out.

I would rather NIS keep pumping out a plethora of lower budget titles than to be snapped up by SONY and pump out 1 title every couple of years.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Because a lot of titles was localised and publish by NISA not made by them.

Title from Compile Hearts, Gust, Idea Factory and to the lesser extent Hit Maker. Nis doesn't own these companies. They are great publisher so if Sony buys them then we just lost a publisher that is willing to bring a lot of niche stuff from Japan.
