I don't get why Sony don't just buy NIS, they're a great small JRPG dev and they've been very loyal to Sony, I mean, I reckon they'd love to be bought up, especially since it'd mean more funding for bigger and better games!

Pleas no! I don't want that. A lot of titles won't be localized if that happen.

Why not? Their games do pretty well overseas especially for such a niche genre this gen, so I'm sure Sony would be willing to localise them...

Things tend to change when studios are bought out.

I would rather NIS keep pumping out a plethora of lower budget titles than to be snapped up by SONY and pump out 1 title every couple of years.

Looking at the current trend of SONY shutting down dev studios and moving games around (The Last Guardian rumored to have been moved to Sony Santa Monica) it appears Kaz is tired of just money being wasted.

Developers will either finish their games on time or they will shutter them. They still support creativity, but the days of Gran Turismo 5 taking 6+ years to finish are over. Warrior's Lair being another example (announced as a Vita launch title, now rumored to be a 2013 release.)

I'm happy with the current business Sony is doing. Andrew House is cleaning up as the new President and CEO of PlayStation.
