Whosoever was the waste of human life and precious resources that designed the first fight against Xord should have their organs ripped out slowly, making sure that he/she stays alive as long as possible while their body is being eviscerated, then when their pathetic life finally gives out, have their head smashed into a bloody pulp with a sledgehammer and every trace of their miserable existence wiped from the planet forever.

Hehe.  Yeah, I didn't like that fight either, but the worst is yet to come.  Speaking of which, I had to turn off the game yesterday because I was so frustrated with my current battle.  :(

Unless you're talking about Lorithia, then I can't think of a more frustrating battle, and even that is easy if you kill the nebulae first!

That's exactly where I'm at.  I haven't had a chance to get back to the game and will take your advice.

Good idea! The real key IMO is the party setup. Control Melia, for the heavy hitting ether attacks against the Nebulae, have Riki in support due to his 9999 HP and "You Can Do It", and either Shulk (to disperse auras and block Talent Arts) or Fiora (for the speed and auto-topple).

Also, be sure to command your party members back to you regularly. If they stray in the water whilst fighting, which will happen often, use "Come to me!", then "Focus Attacks!" to get back on track. Oh, and never use a chain attack. The revive capability is much more valuable.

If you're still struggling, then level up, because the boss of the next, and final, area, is level 80. So you want to be 74-76 at least if you wish to just go straight to the end from here.

Yay, the game gives you a chance to smear that pigfucker under your own power. Shulk should've stabbed him in the eye while interrogating him...

Anyway, got some productive stuff done. Leveled up under repeated attempts to beat Xord, then wandered around the Bionis' leg, which i dodged earlier, getting me an additional level in exploration Exp when i found the secret observation point, then sold off tons of weapons and got some quest cash, then started on crystal forging. Need to find somewhere to buy better armor for Dunban, too, since none of his stuff has slots on it.

Everyone can equip the same armour, I believe (well, except the last character), so just give him whatever. Preferably Light/Medium with slots.

Most people agree that the lighter he is/the higher agility, the better he is. I assume you killed Xord, at last, then?

Indeed. I quite like the armor he came with save for the lack of slots.

The League Armour, no? If you like the look, check in the equipment screen, because armour sets which look the same have the same logo.

Not particularly for the looks, it's just better than any spare armor set i have (though it does make him look pretty badass in an almost "Pirates of the Caribbean" way)

I see. Well, at least you know that now ;)

Also, you should be getting plenty of armour from the shops in the new areas and also the quests+UM's. Don't forget to buy Art books from shops either if they're avaliable!

Wasn't aware of the art books, though i suppose i should be, since there's always this grid on my item collection that's completely blank.

Yeah, the game does explain it, but you may have missed it!

Just go to most shops in a new area, at the far right of the tabs are the Art books, only Intermediate, though! For Advanced you need to do quests/kill UM/find treasure chests.

They don't let you swap out members of your party before that battle like they do with other boss battles, which was annoying.  I wound up taking her on with Dunban as my lead, Melia, and Riki.  I made short work of her but I was level 93 when I fought her.

...

You're not bothered you were so overlevelled? Or did you not realise you were?

And never use Melia as a CPU characterif you can help it. She's decent, but she doesn't discharge elements enough for me.

No, you should have been aware of the art books, because I told you that they are the only thing that is really worth buying from shops!

I had forgotten, but i remembered the part of your advice that said nothing else was worth buying, so then i was starting to wonder what was worth buying (because gem forging is free, as i have just discovered).
