I think he's talking about the bottom of the mines.

A mechon called Xord. 1 damage per attack, wait for the qte, wait for the qte, wait for the qte, yeaa bar full, chain attack, get the break and few attacks in, wait for the qte, wait for the qte, miss the qte, get some guy down and lose the bar -> rinse and repeat.

Ah, thanks. Hmm. Not sure I'd call that a QTE sequence by any stretch, but I think those of us who've gone through the game can agree that not all the boss fights are structured the same as that one.

Don't worry, that's atypical. Be warned though that there is another fight that similarly requires you to "debuff" the boss before you can hurt it, although in that fight you can also just outwait its invincibility period (don't though: it's boring).

That is good news, thanks. :)

Yep. Only battle in the game that is really that anal about it. It's more or less a tutorial on how to effectively use break and chain attacks.

Any "hd first" games on the fence about this game should definitely try it. It is an excellent game and it does not feel like a wii game at all.

Yeah, the only way you can really tell is when you look at the up-close textures and facial features. It's nice to have games like this again, especially on the Wii...
I still haven't beaten the game yet. I have been working on the Melia DOT abuse trick. I am using naked Melia and max agility gems and some night vision gems. Even with all that often I have to use to summon winds to gaurantee a spear break to starlight kick. My main issue though is the chain attack when they are down. I can get a round or two but I don't get all of the DOT attacks in. It is a little frustrating. Especially considering they are all chain linked with shulk and they have max affinity. I know I can go around more because when I topple lock with Dunban Shulk and Reyn I often run out of moves to do before the chain attack is done.
