Forums - Gaming - MGS3 for Vita won't have 3DS features, some 'very big things' planned for Rising

Metal Gear Solid Unofficial Site

In the latest Kojima Productions Report podcast, number 158, the team’s staff members answered some questions sent in by listeners.

One of them was about the PlayStation Vita version for Metal Gear Solid 3, and how it will compare to the 3DS version. The latter one has some new features, such as crouch walking as it is known from MGS4. The Kojima Productions staff members answered that the Vita version won’t have these changes that were made to the 3DS version.

The reason behind this is that MGS3D Snake Eater is meant to do something new, and reach a new audience that may not be familiar with the series, so they chose to include a more modern control scheme, whereas the PS Vita version is more aimed at the fans and is about bringing the classics to the system.

Another question sent in by a listener was about Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, and when we can expect some new information regarding the game. The staff answered that they couldn’t reveal anything right now, but that there would be a lot of new information soon, leading up to E3. They mentioned that the info doesn’t necessarily have to come from them, and that they have some ‘very big things planned’.

It is likely that it has something to do with the new details promised by Play magazine, and that there is an embargo that will be lifted somewhere this month.

The entire podcast, in which the staff members also talk about the challenges and advantages of outsourcing games, can be found here.

Can't wait for my copy to arrive!

The 2 screens are actually the best thing they "added" to this version. The map looks great!

$40 for MGS3D

OR

$40 for MGS 2, MGS3, and MGS Peace Walker

Its not even a contest, Vita version is just clearly better, Kojima is just trying to save face because he knows he ripped off the 3DS audience.

EDIT: MGS3d was $30 not 40, confusing it with RE R, but same difference

Sounds more like laziness to me.

Peace Walker is not included in the Vita version. It's been confirmed.

What version are you talking about?

3DS, arriving from UK to Brazil probably next week.

And I actually would pay extra not to have MGS2... god, that was bad! And that has nothing to do with Raiden.

As far as we know, it's just the games port to the system and slightly upgraded. No special edition or anything.
