It will begin as always with console fans saying the new consoles slaughter PCs. Then we'll give it a few months and PC games are already way ahead. |

1. You got some balls to say that. Hope it was worth it.
2. There is no rumor that says Wii U will be using the HD 4870. That is just wishful thinkging and if you saw how many watts is uses, you'd know there's non way ANY console would use it.

Yes, the folks IGN stole that pic from aren't very original I guess |
The people of IGN are saints and nothing less. The image was not stolen but submitted.

These PS4 specs are a HUGE improvement over PS3. Easily. I'm sure no one wants another $600 console. You're a PC gamer anyway so what do you care? |
I bet you didn't even crack a smile when you wrote "LOL!"

Here is a rumour that says it'll be using it
The GPU will be custom built for the Wii U so power usage could easily change. There is no reason why the Wii U couldn't have a GPU based on the HD 4870.

It's unlikely but it is dependent on if Nintendo/AMD produce a version of the R700 with a reduced process size (which seems likely). That alone would significantly reduce the power draw of the chip.

It is pretty obvious that the WiiU will initially come with a 40nm GPU. WiiU is in manufacturing stages now, and with 28nm lines currently in the low-end yield range, and 40nm lines operating well, that is a given. Once 28nm yields are satisfactory, they will switch to a "SlimWiiU". This GPU very likely doesn't resemble anything like an existing R700. If any company knows how to make hardware just right enough for what it is supposed to do (see Wii), it is Nintendo. I'm pretty sure Nintendo has some surprises left for the competition..

Dammit, I thought you were linking something funny, I didn't want to give IGN page views!

Haha you're the one who's making yourself look like a fool. What are you trying to say I am? Do you really think I'm a PS3/Sony hater? Quite the opposite actually, I'm sure someone here could tell you that. It's amazing how one manages to stand out just by praising PC gaming. Tells me how utterly crap this forum is for PC games and gamers. |
PC gaming has significant differences than consoles besides graphics. The use of a keyboard and the position you are sitting aren't that flexible with a PC and the configuration schemes for games has a lot more commands in MMOs and CS etc.
I love PC gaming but after I tore my ACL at 15 and the 2 years I was unable to walk due to surgery complications left me home alone in which I played D2:LOD and WoW for 7-10 hours a day. I achieved a record on D2 ladder but the constant mouse clicks and hot-key presses ruined my wrists. Trying to play those games on a PC now cause severe pain,In contrast I can tolerate console gaming for a few hours
