Forums - Gaming - Capcom defends on-disc DLC

Capcom is right. It's the same as prescheduled DLC or DLC that is up on the first day... With a few exceptions DLC can usually be released with the game

this, locking stuff away is the same as DLC that is on XBL or PSN on day one,

But Capcom sure thinks people are idiots beyond belief, since NO ONE compared those 2, but instead only complained about the method of making cheap money by cutting stuff in general.

Capcom are idiots. On-disc dlc means they cut out content just so they can charge extra for it. If they want to charge for things on the disc then they should keep the game free to play MMO style.

No it doesn't.

I agree with Capcom, I don't agree with on disc dlc because it leaves a sour taste - in principle. In reality though, a publisher gives a budget to it's developers to produce a game. So the DLC included would mean that the budget would be higher for production of said game. Take Mass Effect 2 and 3 after EA got it's grubby mits on it. The DLC adds to the game quite substatially, by no means could it be called "good value". But it certainly would cost a fair amount more to make. That could easily be on the disc and the same point stand.

I'm not aiming it at you specifically, I'm just basically saying that "gamers" are generally retards when it comes to business and don't seem to grasp that the DLC wouldn't even be on the disc at all if it weren't going to be sold seperately. Making games is a business, it is not some kind of artistic expression purely for their benefit.

I pirate all my games so it annoys me more than most, but I'll say one thing, I piped up the cash for all the ME2 and 3 DLC, it's the first gaming purchase I've made in years because they are good games and deserve the money and I was hooked in. Not that it actually means anything...Sad thing is that I didn't even get to use the "From Ashes" DLC in Mass Effect 3 because it was a corrupted download and only noticed at the end of the game after started wandering where the hell this prothean dude was....Maybe that's gentle jesus punishing my bad pirating ways.

How the hell is this the same as first day DLC? It may already be on the disc, but it won't be released for another 4+months. This argument would make sense if the DLC was unlockable now, but its not.

Why is everyone getting so mad at Capcom for putting putting DLC right on disk when you know they could just put it on game but decide not to or they release a "better" copy of the game later on with the on disk DLC? You know, it's not like it's Capcom's decision...

Screw that! I'm more upset that the game is nowhere near balanced or even fun. An obvious cash-in. And they have the balls to defend the DLC.

I still have Super Street Fighter 4 though. One of their finer achievements of this gen.

With the complete lack of content in their new games those days and locked DLC on disc, Capcom can go screw themselves I won't be buying their games full price.

capcom is stupid. street fighter 4 is the last game I bought from them.

DOWN LOAD content...

Oh Capcom...

Whats worst is that they even have combos in SxT as dlc of chose its not free
