Of course consoles had better games in your opinion. In my opinion they did not, especially this year and last. |
Outside of WOW, Starwars TOR, Starcraft and a couple others...what did they have exclusively?

In 2011 and 2012 so far? Practically all of the multiplatform games, The Witcher 2, Minecraft, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Football Manager 2012, Dota 2 (beta still...but I'm playing it), Total War: Shogun 2, Anno 2070, Crusader Kings II, Frozen Synapse, Realm of the Mad God, the best version of BF3 by far plus lots of very good indie games on Steam. This is what I have played myself. Then in 2012 we have on the way: Diablo 3, Dota 2 full release, Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm. Diablo 3 alone would be enough for the whole year imo, it's such a beast. |
Im not counting multiplatform, but since you insist. Thanks for listing all of those games though and most of the Japanese ones aren't on PC. Its a blessing that PC is even getting Dark Souls after fans came together for it. The company that makes it really needs the support, much like I will be supporting the Witcher 2 when it comes on the 360. Hopefully they will support it instead of ripping it. There is word that Diablo 3 might be multiplatform, but everything else is cool. Not much, but still very cool.

have you played the new add-on? if yes, is it good?
and yes, people seem not to know that many multi-plat-games are on pc as well (bisoshock, cod, battlefield, dragon age, mass effect blablabla)and then, great games like shogun 2 which alone is a games you can play hundreds of hours. and if you wish to play all the console exclusives you have to own 3 consoles lol. instead of that you can have only one console and put the rest ot the money you need for 2 consoles+controllers and so on in a decent gpu for the pc which will play every game for years then. if not on ultra then at least on medium settings which will still look better or at least as good as the console games.

Not much? It's more than I could name for PS3, 360 and Wii in 2011 and 2012 (exclusives). I also forgot to mention more games like: The Binding of Isaacs, Rift, World of Tanks, Terraria, DCS: A-10C Warthog, Gemini Rue, Spacechem. And tbh, it's not like there are have been a lot of great Japanese games lately besides Dark Souls anyway. Every Wii game can be played on PC if you really want to If Diablo 3 will go multiplatform eventually, that doesn't really matter as it probably wouldn't release until much later. |
It hasn't been a great generation for Japanese games, but there are quite a few gems in there. Dark Souls is one of quite a few actually. Every Wii game can be played on PC if you want to emulate it, not legit. I must check out those games you listed though. Consoles in bulk still have more though and have given more marketable, flavorful characters to the world than PC in recent years. You can tell the guys at Crytek want Halo numbers, but they have to create an amazing world and backstory to do that onto of the gameplay.

You're right. PC is not particularily big on character driven games, but where it shines is RTS and simulator games, along with Dota type games. PC games are usually more about the gameplay than characters and story, which is why I own both a gaming PC and PS3. |
Lucky you. The perfect compliment duo are the PS3 and PC. Im stuck with a 360 and PS3...same thing but shittier graphics and no Starcraft. :)

Was Crytek's Crysis 2 problem multiplatform development or a lack luster game?

Then you'd think why it was lack luster. Clearly, the consoles held them back when you compare Crysis 1 with 2. |
Graphically maybe, but gameplay wise and online multiplayer?
The question is if they designed their entire game base on what they percieved FPS console gamer's wanted (CoD) or what made them successful for the first Crysis game as a PC exclusive.

Yeah, i would rather have Crysis 3 be a PC exclusive if that meant it would be a more creative and different sort of shooter.
