Alright so growing up Nintendo always had one strong developer who never lost faith. A developer who brought the biggest film franchise in the world to gaming, a company that actually succeeded and turning a film franchise into a super power in the games industry. Whether it be playing Super Star Wars on SNES to Shadows of the Empire on N64 and Rogue Squadron on N64/GameCube.

Lucas Arts was always a massive Nintendo supporter but during the GameCube generation Nintendo' lost support from Lucas Arts. Their were a few reasons but the big one was Nintendo's choice not to go online. Lucas Arts had negotiated with Nintendo but Nintendo did not meet Lucas Arts demands and after the third Rogue Squadron Lucas Arts ditched Nintendo's platform. With the Nintendo Wii Lucas Arts did finally make a return but not like they used to. Instead of the old Lucas Arts high quality AAA software coming Nintendo's way Nintendo received cheap ports.

Nintendo seems to still have trouble getting Lucas Arts back and Star Wars continues to be a very powerful gaming IP. So should Nintendo do everything possible to get Lucas Arts back? Personally I know Nintendo is making huge moves to open up their online system. Making their online network similar to PC's enabling developers to do what they want online. I am thinking that Nintendo needs to guarantee Lucas Arts support day one. My biggest move would be to get The Old Republic oon WiiU. We know WiiU can handle MMO'S so bringing the Old Republic over would be a no brained. Then Nintendo could invest in LucasArts. We know Microsoft has invested a fortune in the new Kinect title what is stopping Nintendo from investing a million or two in bringing an exclusive StarWars title to WiiU? I would say Rogue Squadron 4 and StarWars:BattleFront3 would make WiiU an amazing home for the StarWars franchise. Nintendo needs some exclusive Star Wars games as well as some multiplat ones.

What do you think could Lucas Arts return as a massive Nintendo supporter help WiiU sell? Would you personally like to see Rogue Squadron 4 , Battlefront3 and The old Republic released on WiiU alongside maybe a new exclusive? Or does Lucas Arts simply not matter in the scheme of things?

??? Isn't lucas arts like the only company left releasing third party wii games? especially star wars games?
The force unleashed 1 and 2, Lego Star Wars*, Republic Heroes and Light Saber Duels... which were just bad games not bad ports

(exluding Lego star wars which was awesome)

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

There's really only a couple of Star Wars games I'd like to play on the WiiU:

1: Knights of the Old Republic 3 (A actual RPG sequel to the previous games)
2: Battlefront 3
3 : Republic Commando 2
4: Roque Squadron 4
5: The Force Unleashed 3

In that order.

I have a dream, I have a dream that kinect star wars is just some kind of sick joke and that it was Battlefront 3 all along. I have a dream today!

Yay!!!

LucasArts isn't exactly a top-tier publisher nowadays...
...but I would love to see Battlefront 3 for Wii U.

Are we certain that Wii U can handle MMOs aside from rumor? This isn't, for example, the first time Iwata has mentioned "SD Cards" in regards to the Wii U, and even then how much of that SD space will have to be supplemental?

Point is Wii U may be technically equipped to run MMOs, but its doubtful that it will start out that way.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Mr.Khan we know that UbiSoft slipped up and most believe it is a MMO for the WiiU that is in development at UbiSoft Quebec. The studio released a job ad for developing an MMORPG AAA game then the same lady made a job posting for an WiiU AAA game and apparently it was the same team. The studio doesn't have many teams and if they are developing an MMO it is highly unlikely they have the resources to develop a AAA WiiU launch title on the side. That is not just a rumor but pretty much fact, a studio that size couldn't produce both a WiiU AAA game and a MMORPG AAA game it simply involves to many resources.

We also know that WoW has been rumored strongly which would seem to suggest MMO's are more then just possible. We usually don't see two different MMO'S rumoured at the same time for a console, PC maybe but not a console.

I also talked with BioWare last year who said they would be interested in bringing The Old Republic to WiiU if it is capable of handling it. That was when I was saying I was dissapointed that I wouldn't be able to play it because I only owned consoles. Though that is hardly any kind of confirmation but it shows they are interested.

Throw in interviews about bringing MMO's to consoles in the past. A huge reason was that Microsoft and Sony strictly control their online content and the games being released are very difficult to make. However Nintendo has already said they are going to have a far more open system one which developers have almost complete freedom. EAGames and UbiSoft have bothb made comments about Nintendo's online future.

So the tablet would be perfect for playing an MMO, the online network will apparently be open enough for developers to have the freedoms they didn't have earlier. Two different major publishers are rumored to be bringing MMO's one which looks all but certain and all on a console and consoles rarely ever get MMO's!

As for memory we know that full blown retail games will supposedly be available for download that means memory should not be a problem.

I can't see anything that would stop an MMO from coming to WiiU. Evidence overwhelmingly supports the idea and the Old Republic would be a perfect game to launch with WiiU. Also keep in mind Nintendo recently reversed their position on subscriptions and paid DLC something Nintendo was hugely against until announcing Nintendo's new network for WiiU/3DS.

Everything points to Nintendo making WiiU an all round gaming machine capable of handling every genre!

I'd say Nintendo are perfectly happy where they stand. But yeah, expanding further shouldn't be a bad idea.
