I think in January 2013 VITA will have sold around 9-10 million. Posibly a pricecut in september, coupled with a Call of Duty, Assassins Creed and Bioshock games, for Japan some games like FF X HD and it will sell like crazy.

The Bioshock game for Vita was on its pen & paper status in January. After the low Vita sales I think it got canceled along with other games.

Call of Duty will go to 3DS too (even the DS got CoD-Games) so it will be nowhere near an system seller on Vita.

From the AC-game we don't see a single screen shoot. The 3DS-AC game canceled after the mediocre sales after launch, the Vita sales are much worse, so what do you think happenend with the Vita-AC? We will see only a AC and Bioshock game for Vita if Sony is willing to pay much money for these.

They were talking about Bioshock Vita back in E3 2011, just becoz of low sales don't mean it got canceled. Especially not if you hear how excited Ken Levine is in interviews about the PSV version. Call of Duty will be big on Vita, it will have console like graphics, a 2nd analog stick, the same online experience on the consoles with voice chat with your friends and possible cross multiplayer with PS3 or some connectivity. The DS or 3DS has neither of that, it doesn't even have a friendlist so don't compare how a CoD can be on the Vita with that on the DS/3DS, Ive seen the graphics of the latest CoD on those machines, it looked like the first Doom lol.

"You're not much use to me alive, are you, Turkish?"

First off, 3DS does have a friends list.  I have almost 100 people on my friends list!  It tells you when your friends are online, tells you what they are playing, and in the case of Mario Kart, lets you join them instantly.  Second, even the DS let you use the mic to talk to people.  The 3DS has a built in mic so the potential is there, too.  On top of that, how hard would it be to make a headset for the 3DS?  And weren't there great home console FPS games last gen?  The 3DS isn't on par with the Vita in terms of graphics but it can easily pull of anything the Xbox/Gamecube/PS2 was doing. It's not the DS!   Would a COD game with Halo 2 graphics on a portable really be a bad game?  Heck, with the 3DS, you have the Circle Pad Pro that gives the device a second analog AND four shoulder buttons.

Personally, I'll probably end up buying the Vita version of anything multi-plat and I know the Vita's online and graphics are much better than what the 3DS offers but c'mon, man.  Don't just bash the 3DS for no reason.

Somewhere around 6-7 millions in my opinion.

If there's a huge price drop by year's end, add 1 million.

No, Vita's sales are much lower when you align the two so far and take a couple of factors into consideration:

The Vita launched the week of Dec 12-18 in Japan, putting it on the market for about 3 1/2 months now and totaling 1.7m WW.

The 3DS in its first 3 1/2 months, at the same price, with far less games, and without the benefit of the holiday season in Japan amassed around 3m WW.

OT:  As far as what Vita will sell this year, I'd rather be fair and wait until after E3 when we know more (games, possible price drop).  Based on just what we know right now at $249, well, I'd rather not speculate since it wouldn't be much...

The 3DS had a large launch and launch sales drew out longer because of that. But then their sales dropped off sharply and they even sold down to the 40k a week level until the price drop. So yes the 3DS was doing the same thing despite the larger launch.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

5 million tops, firstly i dont trust the 1.7 million number on this site as we know the number on here for france (and possibly the uk) is too high and second sales in the summer will be in the toilet

You're basing that off what? Your gut? How could you determine if any sales figures are "inflated". Rumor? Let's take the numbers we're given and not live in bias land. 1,664,366 is more accurate if you like.

With a big pricedrop and 4-5 really good games the Vita would sell 5-7 Mio. But none of this will happen so the Vita will sell about 2-3 Million worldwide.

Vita will sell 2 million ww by the end of the month.....so

~6 million. Maybe 4.5 million at the low point and 7 million at the high. I can't see it selling over 50K most weeks of this year. I can see it dropping to below 30K a week by June.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Your logic is completely flawed...

Yes, the 40k a week that the 3DS hit was the ONE week right before its price drop.  However we don't know what the Vita's sales will be in the week right before its price drop (certainly less than 40k), therefore we cannot compare this data.  As a result, it is incorrect to assume that 3DS and Vita are/will be performing the same based on this criteria.

What we can do is compare their performance thus far.  Clearly you didn't see Kowenicki's chart data:

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=141085&page=1

Based on an accurate comparison, the Vita is tracking well below the 3DS when their sales so far are aligned.  Furthermore, the example in your OP of Vita's 90k a week is erroneous:  It's currently at 77,244 and falling every week.  So no, the 3DS was not doing the same, whether you compare their time on the market directly (3 1/2 months, and again, with Vita's benefit of more games and the Japan holiday season) or predict where Vita will be leading up to its own price drop.

8 million.

I don't think it'll even hit 5 million.
