It will either be 3DS or no new game at all, so let's hope it's the former.

Super Castlevania IV is the best "normal" Castlevania. Best controls, best graphics, best music and a manageable difficulty. There are people who say that Rondo of Blood is better, but even though the sound quality is bettter due to CD, the arrangement of the remixes is disappointing. Also, it's a step back when it comes to controls and fairness. So don't believe these people, because they are wrong.

Roger that. *salutes*

Aaaaanyways, about that Monster Hunter. *laughs*

That is wishful thinking on Nintendo fans' parts; They want vita to get 3rd and not MH4.

Capcom already said in a statement that they are going multiplat with the series. I can't find the link, but they did.

It would be extremely odd for this to mean, "3ds is getting the games way before vita"

Now that's just wishful thinking on your part.

You can't find the link, because there's no such story. You are confusing it with Capcom's statement that they were trying to make their MT Framework compatible with every platform they intend to develop for which naturally means that multiplatform development will become the norm for their games.

However, any intentions for multiplatform development are dropped as soon as exclusivity becomes a more lucrative option. In Monster Hunter's case, everything points to moneyhatting, thus no new MH for the Vita for the time being.

Capcom Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce its plans to release "Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) G" and "Monster Hunter 4" (tentative title) for the Nintendo 3DS system.

The "Monster Hunter" series are hunting action games which take players on a hunt for huge monsters inside a world rich with nature. The games introduced a new kind of communication style, and created a "Monster Hunter craze" through cooperative play focused on hunting monsters with friends. Ever since the first game was released in 2004, our fan base has grown, and the "Monster Hunter" series has sold 18 million copies total.

By releasing the newest "Monster Hunter" on the Nintendo 3DS, we aim to further strengthen the brand by captivating Nintendo 3DS users, and adding to the existing fan base.

"Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) G", scheduled for release on December 10th, 2011, utilizes "Monster Hunter 3 (Tri)" (Released on Nintendo Wii®, August 2009) as its base, and will contain new elements that take advantage of the Nintendo 3DS and its capabilities. Not only will players be able to enjoy the feeling of depth from the 3D perspective, but the game will take advantage of the system's wireless functionality. In addition to the familiar controls, a customizable touch panel will also make controlling the game even smoother than before. Finally, G rank quests, new monsters, equipment, and new supporting characters will be included in order to satisfy long-time players, as well as those who are new to the franchise.

Making games multiplatform is a basic strategy, and Capcom has strengthened the "Monster Hunter" franchise, as well as other popular brands, by using it. Capcom will continue to meet the player's expectations through superior developmental knowhow and research, and by choosing hardware that benefits our games the most."

Nice, but:

1) The final paragraph is more about justifying Capcom's decision to bring the series to the 3DS than anything else.

2) The final part of the final paragraph basically confirms no Monster Hunter for the PSV.

How are they strengthening the brand by selling less?

Yeah, 3DS will be fine in Japan. Little doubt of that. ^_^

As for your second part, I agree. Honestly, I'd totally buy a Vita if Koji Igarashi released his next Iga-vania on it. It's been four years and I'm still waiting. >_<

There's also Dragon's Crown, which looks totally awesome... but there's been rumors that it's been cancelled.

Some 3DS owners make me sick. You are already the second one within a week to talk about Castleroid on the Vita.

Gotta get my fix man... I mean, we were spoiled at 3 Iga-vanias a generation (Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow for the GBA & Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia for the DS), so I'm kinda having a withdrawl right now.

You're right if you think me a desperate man. *insane laughter*

My real dream is for a new Metroidvania Metroid. But I'm still starving for a new Castlevania too!

Actually I lie, my real dream is for a Megaman Metroidvania... a Megatoidvania if you will.

megaman is dead didnt you hear?

He's alright, just chilling with chill penguin until the bad times are over.

Have you looked at the sales? Monster Hunter Tri G already outsold Monster Hunter Tri in Japan, the only country where it is available. The brand has certainly become stronger on Nintendo platforms.

But if you are refering solely to Monster Hunter 4... well, how can you be sure that it will sell less? If an enhanced port of Tri is already looking like it can move two million copies in Japan alone, then what's an actual sequel going to do? Not to mention worldwide sales where Nintendo will lend Capcom a hand to strengthen the brand. Capcom undoubtedly wants to turn Monster Hunter into a global success and if that goal is easier attainable by partnering with Nintendo and making the game exclusive to the 3DS, then that would be a good explanation why the Vita won't get Monster Hunter.

Do you do that purposely?

The brand has gotten stronger for one game for one company. PSP MH3 will reach 5M, beating all nintendo mh sales combined, which is, we'll say 4m.

Strengthening the brand means it will have higher total sales WW, not just higher sales on one system compared to another.

What im focusing on is that part of the quote youre focussing on.
how can capcom say its strengthening brand if it will sell less than it would have multiplat?
I haveno doubt that its getting stronger from wii to 3ds and i may eventually have to get one for it( that and because i want to play RE with you) but i just dontsee how the statement can possibly be justifying a move of excousivity while concrrently saying its doing so to strengthen the brand, that's all.

Capcom will wait for PSV to have a larger user base, until then PSV will have most probably just old ports and minor new titles, then it will release big MH titles on it too. PSP is still the best market for MH, but 3DS is a very promising new one. But given the opportunity to have TWO big markets for MH, 3DS and PSV replacing PSP as the former starts declining, surely Capcom won't miss it. About moneyhatting and timed exclusives, it currently is an additional rich opportunity for Capcom: being paid by Ninty to do what it would do anyway, releasing on PSV when it will be more appealing than now. Definitive exclusives are possible, but given the potential sales and profits, to make up for missing them would require TENS million $ for EACH major MH title.

In case some people don't know what Monster Hunter 4 is.

Capcom has confirmed this is actual gameplay. Also some other bits you may be wondering about the development. There are no more news to report at this time and the title is still in development.

I think Nintendo paid lots of money to Capcom and Square (Kingdom Hearts) to get some exclusiv rights to keep the games from being released on Vita,(Capcom is exploiting their famous Games(like Street Fighter) in any possibly way ;Why don"t they do so with Monster Hunter? With PS360 and Vita they would sell an estimated 5 Mio units.

Therefor there will never be a NEW monster hunter on Vita or PS360.
