NVIDIA and CCP announced at the CCP keynote today that EVE players will be able to buy a GTX 560 high-end graphics card with in-game currency. How much will this cost players? Just 20 PLEX, and that includes shipping too. 

Only 100 cards will be available at first (one per account), with more possibly given out after NVIDIA and CCP see how this plays out. EVE players will need to keep a lookout for a registration page to pop-up onthe EVE website soon to be able to grab one of these cards.

In-game currency to buy a real world good? It's pretty crazy, and something I hope to see happen more.

[Editor's note: As some readers point out, you use real money to buy PLEX, but you can also use the in-game currency, ISK, to obtain PLEX as well.]

GTX560 isn't really a high end card tho...

the 560 is still a great card for games, it won' run BF3 at max settings but no one cares because with some AA tweeks and shadows it will run fine.

if i'm lucky i'l have enough plex to get one of the 100. i have 10 so far and enough to buy 2 more plex.. if i sell my freighter and t3 i'l have enough for another 3 i'l just have to make 2.5bil asap

I'd assume, its much quicker to get a real job, and just buy a card like that.

But, if for some reason you really love EVE, have that amount of money just lieing around, and have a videocard that's worse than a 560 gtx.

Then I suppose it's awesome.
