This is a marathon, not a race. Once Sony secures as Vita exclusices Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts, FIFA, Pokemon, GTA, Metal Gear, Call of Duty, Mario Kart, Gran Turismo, the Tales of games, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Mario, they'll handily crush the 3DS.

I confidently expect that, by this time next year, when most if not all of the above have been released or are about to be released, Vita sales will be at least five times higher than 3DS sales. Quote me on this, this will be the last generation Nintendo ever releases its own handheld.

ill quote you alright.

That's obviously sarcasm, how can Sony secure Nintendo exclusives like Pokemon? lol

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

Hmm, yeah one could wish for better sales, especially when comparing it to the PSP. But hey, look at the weekly sales vs the 3DS, 7000 to 5000?? Not too shabby, if ones looking for a silver lining that's it.

Anyway WW I predict Vita selling 8 to 10 million by years end. In just France? Idk, 400k?

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

8-10 ww chark? by years end it'll be lucky to hit 5 (i'm being generous there)

Darn, really hope it can manage more sales! Come on Sony do something.

VGC has the Vita at 83k, the 3DS at 869k.

Is VGC online to you? For me is down since yesterday.

gamrconnect and VGC are on the same server/the same website, so yes.

When I access the www.vgchartz.com I receive the page with the message "VGChartz is currently under maintenance and will be down for a few hours, we apologise for the inconvenience." The others sites are online... gamrConnect.vgchartz.com, gamrReviews.com, etc.

I'd gotten this error a while back too..  I forgot what I did to fix it, but, delete your cookies.

Apparently you aren't looking at the numbers right. This last week sold 91,000 WW, there are 42 weeks left. Sales can still go down over the next 6 months, but there isn't much telling what it will do or how far away from the current sales it will fluctuate. Holidays will no doubt be better, that's when people buy. But just by the current weekly sales trend Vita is looking to sell 3.8 million more, add the 1.6 it already sold and that's 5.4 million. There is no way hardware sales won't double or quadruple during the couple months around the holidays.

It'll go down in the next months. March is not the slowest month and Vita is still experiencing "launch" numbers - it's decreasing 20k per week in Americas and maybe there's adjustments in Europe too, judging by this thread.

So it all depends on two things where it'll stabilize and if there's price cut or not.

So vita is doing even worse than we imagined?

Where are these numbers from?

Worse? Was it really expected to keep selling immediately after launch? I know it has a good launch line up, but it is still a rubbish games line up, there are about 3 that I want to play

Well it's behind most expectations from before launch here and has had a pretty poor launch... So yes it's doing even worsen than we imagined.

Its better than you imagined? You expected it to be this way?

I am becoming very depressed about the state of gaming and Sony... Apple is taking over the world, and seemingly runining gaming with iOS games.

The main thing is, I go into a store and see the Vita for £225 and then the PS3 with £190, what idiot would chose a Vita over a PS3? So you ar ejust limiting your audience to PS3 users (especially as you can't download stuff to the PC to get it on your Vita and the wi-fi turns of when you let the Vita sleep which is really annoying). So by limiting the audience, it just makes it harder to find people with £200 spare to spend on a portable games console, especially when many have iPhones

3DS is more expensive than Wii but is doing reasonably well for itself. People expect newer electronics to be more expensive, the matter lies in the fact that PSVita is attempting to be PS3-lite, whereas DS nor 3DS were or are Wii-lite.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
