Video game journalism is so terrible. They can't even properly report what the original source actually said.
Welcome to current Gen Nintendo.
Atto Suggests...:
Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series
Game - Metro Last Light
TV - Deadwood
Music - Forest Swords

I laughed.
Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.
| superchunk said: I saw this earlier and my impression is that it goes against what Nintendo said at E3. They stated it should have 1080p with 30 or 60fps. Also, it states 720p when using the controller screen... so with out that its probably solid 1080p. |
Nintendo never stated that the controller would be HD only that the WiiU would.

One puts too much stock in resolution.
The problem, of course, is that the speculative wanking about Wii U specs is only going to get worse until we hit a point much closer to launch when a developer leaks official specs (that Nintendo will never corroborate, much as they never did for Wii)
Such arguments will only get worse before they get better

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
Personally, I expect games that try to push the graphical limits of any of the next generation consoles will mostly be rendered at 720p@30fps; while most games are modest improvements over current HD console or Wii games rendered at 1080p@60fps.
The reason for this is simple, I do not believe that anyone is willing to take on the expenses associated with a cutting-edge game console at this point in time. Consumers are unwilling to spend (much) more than $450 on a console, console manufacturers will be unwilling to lose billions of dollars up front to keep the cost of a high performance system reasonable, and publishers/developers are not going to want to increase development costs 2 to 4 times to produce games for these systems to (probably) only go broke after selling millions of copies of a game.

If it's not 300dpi, I am not buying it. My 3 years old printer is already doing 600dpi.
The Wii U launch titles have to look better than Uncharted 3, or it is not acceptable.
