I still use a 14GB 360 as my primary console. I had to expand memory with an 8GB tumb drive, but how much is one of those now? Last I checked, it's <$10. I also download a lot of DLC, but I do delete it for old games. Currently I have DLC for Mass Effect 2, Fallout 3, Gears 3, Forza 2, 3, 4, Alan Wake, Too human, Lost Odyssey, Oblivion, Magna Carta 2, Halo Reach, DBZ: Burst Limit, Resident Evil 6, and others on my hard drive, and I still had 4 GB left ontop of all my saved data (which I never delete). You only really need more then 20GB if you install games. 360 does not require you to install games, and it doesn't make load times any faster (just makes it quieter). PS3 requires installation on many games, often times installs are 10GB in size. So while 20GB is more then enough on a 360, it's useless on a PS3 because you would only be able to play 2 or 3 games on it. The 360 Arcade is far from useless. XBL is almost useless, but not the 360 Arcade, that's a bargan and the way I see it, anybody who has enough $$$ to play PC or PS3 games and wants a second console, this is an obvious choice (unless you're considering the Wii). The price of the system is only the cost of 2 new games, and it's worth it even if it's just for Halo, Forza, Fable, Gears, and a few 3rd party exclusive shooters and JRPG's. |
Cross out XBLA and you can call XBL useless.
Yay!!!

You are a sad person. All of the games in that list are good/fun.

At this point, if you haven't enjoyed either system, then you should really just go with the cheapest console you can find. Used, it's up in the air, new it's the 360, but if you plan on playing lots of MP, then probably the PS3 instead. Either way, you'll find tons to love.

Why would a new 360 be preferable to a new PS3? It's more expensive to get a 360 with the same equipment as PS3 (large HDD, rechargeable controller). Furthermore you don't have to pay for online on PS3 (which saves you the monetary equivalent of one game per year). You also get Blu Ray as an added bonus. So in order to get similar 360 hardware (minus Blu Ray), you have to spend more money than for a PS3.
Last but not least, let's not forget the games you can't play on 360:
Uncharted 1, 2 and 3
inFAMOUS 1 and 2
MotorStorm 1, 2 and 3
Gran Turismo 5
God Of War 3
God Of War Collection
Tales Of Graces F
Tales Of Xillia
Valkyria Chronicles
Demon's Souls
Little Big Planet 1 and 2
Modnation Racers
Heavenly Sword
RESISTANCE 1, 2 and 3
Killzone 2 and 3.
Folklore
Heavy Rain
The Sly Collection
Ratchet & Clank (Tools Of Destruction, Quest For Booty, A Crack In Time, All 4 One)
Siren Blood Curse
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 and 2
Saint Seiya
YAKUZA 3, 4 and Dead Souls
Twisted Metal
Jak And Dexter Collection
Metal Gear Solid 4
Atelier Series
House of the Dead 3 and 4
Time Crisis: Razing Storm + Deadstorm Pirates
Pixeljunk Series
Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection
Wipeout HD + Fury
(Not a complete list)

A 5/10 or 6/10 game can be fun, but there are so many games out there that no one really has time to play them over Multi-Platform games, and chances are, unless you're a specific fan of the franchise, you won't enjoy it much. So I wouldn't use them as an arguement to get a PS3 over a 360 because you shouldn't be playing those games.
Also broken games like Yakuza: Dead Souls, should not be on any list.
Finally PS2 compilations are available on PS2, and very easily PC (with an emulator and the PS2 disk).
Also House of the Dead 3 is not a PS3 exclusive, It's available on Wii, PC, and the original X-Box (thus X-Box 360). Same goes for Ninja Gaiden.
Still 30 games, plus a couple PSN games. Not a bad reason to get a PS3. 360 has about 30 games as well not available on PC or PS3, but I would still say PS3 is a better choice, at least for the Action Adventure genre.
P.S. 360's 30 or so games (Fable 2, Forza (x3), Halo (x4), Gears (x2), Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, PGR3,4, Viva Pinyata (x2), Dead Rising, Saints Row, Dead or Alive 4, Crackdown (x2), Ace Combat 6, Blue dragon, Kameo, Magna carta 2, etc. (Depends on if games like Too Human and such make the cut off the list can go well over 40).
What is with all the hate? Don't read GamrReview Articles. Contact me to ADD games to the Database
Vote for the March Most Wanted / February Results
The HD remakes I listed aren't just emulated PS2 games, they are remakes which look and play much better on PS3. House of the Dead 4 is not on any other system.
I didn't even list Dead Space Extraction HD and House of the Dead Overkill Extended Cut (which has additional levels and HD graphics) or the upcoming Resident Evil Chronicles HD Selection.
I think I also forgot several of PS3's JRPGs, more and more of which are being released now, whereas Japanese support for 360 has dried up (because it's dead there).

Mass Effect I'm geeting, I'm just not sure if it'll be on the PC or a newly acquired 360... And Fable 2 I've played and enjoyed it! Is Alan Wake any good? Beside those I've mentioned here, I've never heard of any of them - well, almost anyways... |
Well if it's about Mass Effect, you can still play them on the PS3, and ME1 is uber cheap for the PC. In fact, it's on sale in Amazon Downloads for 6 bucks right now.
