Forums - Sony - What ever happened to the Super Smash Bros. PS3 game?

btw... hopefully this game never see's the light. Nintendo,SEGA,CAPCOM are the only developers with Legacy deep enough and with the versatility to create a IP like this.

at the moment this is true, but if Sony did release this game, then it would surely help show other people that there are other Sony games that may appeal to them, for example, if you choose to play as Ratchet, you may be interested in Sly later on because they are similar types of games, and broadening gamers to other more games would surely help sales :)

I have seen this said before but I don't understand it tbh. Surely there's enough characters for a 20-30 roster just from First party games? Add few third party cameos and there you go

I'm a huge fan of SEGA but I think it's crazy to believe that their characters outside of Sonic are any more memorable or relavant than what Sony has to offer. If Sony simply learned to market their games properly they could easily have enough recognizable characters to support a cross-over fighting game.

are you nuts?

Please rethink that post. SONY has the worst gallery in the industry. The world Loves SEGA legacy. Why do you think they take so much heat from us fans and the media when it comes with the handling of thier Legacy IP's?  SONY has the worst Gallery this in the industry just a bunch of guys with guns.

You must be delusional. Ask the average person to name three SEGA characters and what do you get? Sonic, Knuckles and Robotnik maybe? Do the same with Sony and you would likely get Drake, Sackboy and Kratos. Just a bunch of guys with guns? Do you even play Sony's first party games? As much as I love SEGA their legacy is utterly meaningless to the average gamer.

I would say Microsoft has the worst. That's what i think of when i hear the phrase "just a bunch of guys with guns".As for Sony characters. They could include but are not limited to...

Ratchet/Clank

Sweet Tooth

Jak/Daxter

Spyro

Crash (don't like him at all but eh whatever.)

Sly Cooper

Scion/Kou/Volt from The Bouncer (Personally i loved this game to death, despite what others would say, plus they make perfect fighting chars)

Sackboy

Nathan Drake

Kratos

Nariko

The Wanderer from Shadow of the Colossus

Alicia from Valkyria Chronicles

Killzone Char-Helghast?

Resistance Chimera?

Leonard from White Knight

Dart from Legend of Dragoon (wishful thinking, but would be awesome lol)

Solid Snake

Sephiroth/Cloud

Noctis from FFV13 (Would be cool :p)

Ashley Riot from Vagrant Story

They could always add a bit more third party characters too.

E3 here we come!

add eddie Raja to the list and I'm sold!

I play as Donut Eddie in the UC3 MP "don't mess with Eddiiiee Raaajaa!" lol

and in addition

Sweet Tooth
Arc from Arc the lad
Parappa tha rappa
Emmet from Warhawk
Rudy from WildArms
Kat from Gravity Daze
Jeanne D'Arc
Logan from Syphon Filter
Dart from Legend of Dragoon
Rau from Mark of Kri
Sir Daniel Fortesque from Medievil

I understand these characters are not the most popular BUT they all have their fanbase and this could be a good way to boost their popularity. I also do not understand his no diversity argument. Clearly this list shows it's the exact opposite

The majority of the characters listed are indeed owned by Sony. Also, what the hell is a Sony gallery?

PS. shame on everybody for forgetting the Patapons.
