It's fake. The source of all those rumors last year was some site called PaulGaleNetwork.

you sure about that?
well how do you explain the screenshots and SuperBot?
..

From what i recall there were screenshots, and then delightful fights over whether Sony has the characters to make a game like that really work.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Lol I never heard of Super Smach Bros. either. Thanks for the spellcheck.

You're welcome.
Gotta be honest here Sony just doesn't have enough compelling characters to make a "Smash Bros" type game. In fact this entire generation they've manged to create only one character that might have any real staying power and that's Drake. Sony has some great games but part of the big appeal of Smash Bros is the lineage its cast of characters has, something Sony and MS are severly lacking.
Now if they borrowed from 3rd parties heavily there would be a compelling cast.
To this day I can not get over the lack of recognition that Sony's games and characters receive. Personally, I think this would be a great game, I'd love to see it actually materialize. Also, a big LOL at anybody who thinks that Nintendo invented the cross-over fighting sub genre with Smash Bros. I'd much rather see any potential Sony cross-over fighter modeled after Marvel vs Capcom anyway.
