Bring it to PC and watch it hit 2million within days.

2 million copies pirated, that's for sure :p.

I kid, it has potential, but not THAT much, it will get outpirated either way, not stealing per se, but making illegal copies of it and ripping the publisher off.

It's a great game, deserves every sale.

Then it should have been PS3 exclusive, because 360 games get outpirated. 400k for PC is not asking much.

It should have been indeed, but likely justified the cost of porting, as it was likely front loaded and still has a high price tag in UK in most places - ie it's rarely even sub £25 yet new. Chances are, the only way it'll sell on PC is through those actually petitioning to have it, and some insane steam sale of about 90% off, in which case the cheapskates would roll out their e-wallets.

Although piracy on 360 is rife, it's nowhere at the level PC one is, and likely never will be.

Uh, 90% off? Are you implying PC games don't sell?

No I am implying most of those sales occurs on heavy sales, albeit 90% is a bit drastic, in most cases it's 25/50/75 till majority of the sales start rolling in.

Outside of few indie darlings or established franchises such as HL/RA/(Pretty much every blizzard game), there are only a few games that do sell decently enough to justify porting, especially with hiked up console prices when compared with the PC pricing.

It's hard to say, how much porting costs are though. Particularly when porting from the 360, which is similar, and if they do a piss poor job (assasins creed 2 :P) and don't enhance it like most do.

I do think piracy is an issue, (which is why I think arkham city got delayed a month, and more games seem to be getting delayed then ported at a later date).  But, after the initial push, used game sales etc start becoming a factor as well so I think that's why publishers wait.

However alan wake port made a profit the first day it was released according to remedy, and this port was a very good.

Oh no, the PC crowd has arrived and digital sales are already being mentioned for a game that hasn't even been announced!

The game would sell awfully on PC. I would provide links proving it, but then you would mention how digital sales aren't counted, because they are rarely shared. Then you would provide a link to a random, unrelated game that had a high download rate, and use that rate as the standard. You would probably also mention how it was #2 on steam for a week during a sale, and how it sold X amount in Germany alone. I would question your extrapolation, and you would defend it.

There, I just saved us the agony of that another potentially painful conversation about PC sales. At the end of the day though, this game isn't coming to PC, so let's celebrate the great sales of the console versions. Yaah!

LOL, nice one :)

That must explain why almost every console game gets a PC port. Why port it if they just steal it?? The devs get a bigger piece of the pie when selling digitally (steam), so the console price hike is irrelevant. It would also be nice if you supported your argument with facts like, say, actual sales numbers of ports and the cost of porting.

Would the growth in console releases and more of the games being exclusive to consoles, and most of those that do come to PC have half assed ports, unlike the console counterparts which in most cases have no difference be enough evidence that the publishers are seeing PC as less of a viable platform to return their investments? I agree that it's probably the biggest game market out there, the thing is, most people would preffer to pirate that shit since it's so easy rather than purchase it, and don't really have to stray far to find statistics from bittorrent sites which show the pirated games for respective years 2010/2011 etc.

I mentioned the price hike due to the fact that the games are more expensive, and more people are still willing to buy them, whereas the 30% cheaper PC counterparts sell considerably less.

Admittedly the PC exclusives sell well and are better, but when put in comparison with the current console sales, they're a world apart nowadays.

Well it was bound to happen =D

i don't care PC ver sales,i will buy it and enjoy the 60fps+ Dark Souls
if they really port to PC

I still like Demon's Souls more then Dark Souls, I hope they make Demon's Souls 2.

To tell you the truth, I dont think a game like Demon's Souls will be made again, with Dark Souls they tried too hard. Dont get me wrong it was one of the best games of last year. Eventough Demons Souls lacked a map, you always knew everything around you.

im stuck at twins boss -.- The game is amazing

Fantastic sales, deserve more. Looks like a PC version is coming and I will be buying it too. On another note, people really think a pc version of this will sell that much?
