Forums - Sales - Is Nintendo doomed? Not likely. Just take a look at how much money it's got in the bank

Saw this over on Gaf

Here's the exact quote taken from a feature in the latest issue of the UK's Nintendo Gamer magazine: "Buried in reams of financial data is the revelation that Nintendo have 812.8 billion Yen (£6.7/$10.5 billion) in the bank - enough for it to take a 20 billion Yen loss (£163/$257 million) every year until 2052. Then there's almost 469 billion Yen (£3.8/$6.0 billion) held in premises, equipment and investments. When that runs out - we're in the year 2075 by this point - they've got some of the most valuable intellectual property in gaming to sell off before the company goes out of business."

Holy shit Nintendo is doomed!

Wow, this graph speaks for itself. Nintendo know how to do business.

At least Sony has still profited with all PlayStations and is not losing money anymore with PS3, though you would think so 400m PS devices sold would have given them more profit over time...

And the Xbox brand still has some way to go before it becomes profitable overall.

I don't know how true this is, but I've seen people say many times that Sony sunk the profits made with PS1 and PS2 because of PS3's first couple of high-loss years.

I wonder how accurate the sony and ms info is since they lump their game sales in other divions. Good news for nintendo though, makes me wonder how they will invest that cash.

Microsoft separates their gaming division from the rest of the company when they report so you can easily see their p/l

Sony did the same until 2009 when their incorporated their viao lineup into their gaming division, playstation represents 54% Viao represents 46% as of their last earnings report, so what ever p/l they give for their network division, you can split it based on that.
