I listened to it, I don't think I heard any lyrics about ponies. So, they're lost on the moon. But what does it have to do with ponies?

I really like that. Another good one where you can still really like it without absolutely no prior knowledge of MLP.

I assumed it was to do with Luna being sent to the moon. This was the line that made me almost certain that was it "together we pay your crime on the moon"

The lyrics are in the description, they are clearly about Luna.

That said I'm no longer bothered by whether something is lyrically pony related or not. Tombstone was clearly high on ponies when he wrote this and that's good enough for me.

It's nice when they are but it isn't neccessary as long as the song is good.

Pony music has more of the kind of music I like (upbeat, happy, melodic) and less of what I don't like (ambient, trance, hip-hop, generic chart pop). The people who make it are putting far more heart in than anything on the radio. It's also very hard to find what I like otherwise; "indie" music is mostly depressing.

It's great if they link it to some aspect of the show so I can think about that context while playing it, but that can be as little as a title and background image.

Usually you can tell if someone is trying too hard to use EqD to promote their unrelated music, and I wouldn't post it up here if I thought that happened.

Tomb is one of the big names that supports pony music as a thing (arguably the others are Glaze, Aviators, PinkiePieSwear, Alex S, MandoPony and Mic, not all of whom I actually like).

Fair enough, I have a similar attitude with some songs. At times it can actually be annoying when they make a reference to the show (either by remixing the in show music or otherwise) because they might not do it right. 

Also, speaking of remixing the in show music, I really like this version of This Day Aria. I find it changes it just enough to seem different without ruining the original song;
