Blasphemy!

I know Soleron is supposed to be the Negative Nancy around here, but there are just a bunch of things that tick me off. In rougholy chronological order...
Shining Armor came out of nowhere. Seriously, he's supposed to be Twilight's BBBFF, but we don't even see him in a flashback for 50 episodes? And the song about them was stupid. "We never had a single fight?" Yeah, way to set up unrealistic expectations, not only for your audience, but for the rest of the episode, where they do have a fight! And later, Shining Armor's explanations for how Twilight never knew who he was going to marry until then seemed a bit thin.
Next up, Cadence. Who is she? I mean, an alicorn is a bit of a big deal in the FiM universe. Is she immortal like the princesses? Apparently not, as she was younger during the flashback. So are there mortal alicorns? Or is Cadence just a Mary Sue thrown into the story in order to give little girls another pink pony to play with?
The rest of the episode is fine, but then we have the part with Cadence and Twilight trapped in a cave. Worst. Trap. Ever. Seriously, they just walk out! And don't talk to me about the three guards Chrysalis dispatched. Twilight could have blown away a dozen guards without a throwaway gag.
Next up, we have the part where Celestia is beaten in a quick fight with Chysalis. Seriously? One pony worth of love is enough to defeat the sun goddess? I understand her being outmatched by the likes of Nightmare Moon and Discord, but this wass just embarassing. Unless the sun is the size of a small house in the FiM universe, this sort of thing should be pathetically simple for Celestia to take care of.
Last off: how Chrysalis was beaten. She just stood there and waited for the good guys' attack to send her balsting off. I'd compare her to Team Rocket, but at least they had witty banter while going through the air. This was barely excusable for Discord's defeat. This sort of a villainous defat twice in a season is inexcusable.
But the Aria song was fantastic!
