Ninja Theory, "Moving from Xbox to PS3 to multi was betrayal in some people's minds"

In an interview with PSM3, Ninja Theory's Tameem Antoniades answered to some critics opposition to a Devil May Cry reboot, "Nothing needs a reboot unless that reboot works. Look at Batman. Nobody needed that , but when it works it can change the course of a franchise in a positive way. It can make it survive." He added, "Capcom wanted a reinvention - a reinterpretation - and that's what we went ahead and did."

huh? I dont believe that Ninja Theory has ever been important to any fanbase that they would care about their platform status. If they are also trying to say that this so called betrayal plays a part in the aggression towards them, they are more up their own ass than I thought.

They were important in the beginning to sony fans, you know when Heavenly Sword was considered the first real game after resistance, since Lair flopped.

I don't think these guys realize that nobody cares about them

Time for hype

lol nobody cares about Ninja Theory (NT), this generation they've made two awful games, that's why they're facing opposition from DMC fans. Their stupid philosophy of putting story before gameplay is what makes their games suck, at the end of the day a video-game is made to be played, if the game-play sucks then no matter how good everything else is, it's not a good video-game. Sure it's nice when both gameplay & story are strong like in Bioshock, God of War, Mass Effect and even Gears of War etc., but not one game ever made or that will ever be made will have a story with the depth & quality of a good book or film, and that doesn't bother me in the slightest. Well that's just my opinion, also it's weird how NT sacrifice good gameplay for story when both of their games have mediocre/awful stories, Enslaved in particular has the most convoluted, contradicting, shallow and worst ending to a story in a game I've played this gen, just awful. I'm not a DMC fan at all, but I feel sorry for the fans, the new DMC is going to suck badly.

heavenly sword was an awesome game and sometime the story can help and replace gameplay. i remember playing ffx and the story is what made that game - not gameplay.

Yes I agree gameplay should come first. But story does matter. I get bored if the game is to generic and souless

Ninja Theory is just in for the money, Heavenly Sword did sell as much as we wanted F**k you fans

Games like Tactics Orge, Final Fantasy 12, Vagrant Story have the depth of a book in their design. a lot of the time art design can do a lot for storytelling. many games can go a lot deeper than films and in some cases books. i thought Heavenly Sword was a great game. but it needed a lot more variety in its gameplay. i think they couldve done that with a sequel.

Enslaved was an excellent game. a well told story, in terms of voice acting, script writing and performance capture. the cloud thing was awesome! sadly i feel like the game required more replay value. theres also a book which i have 'The Terresect' that i havent got round to reading yet, but i would like to eventually.

anyway this information is obvious. the reason any developer goes multiplatform is for more success.

Nobody needed a Batman reboot?

What?
