Forums - Sales - Mass Effect 3 sells 890,000 on day one in U.S.

900k across 3 platforms is not a huge blockbuster but good sales none the less, but this will probably be a really front loaded game as well.

Just because people pre-ordered doesn't mean they picked it up on the first day.
I've pre-ordered games and then later cancelled. Not quite sure cancelled pre-orders are taken off.

Pretty good sales for one day!

Finally something to breathe a bit of life in the gamerkingdom!

My God that's impressive!

For one day in the US only, yes that is huge.

300k average for each platform? Its good- its not mind blowing though since this game likely won't have huge legs.

GameStop reports that 40 percent of its customers that purchased the game also purchased the day-one download content. “The tie ratio at the register is the highest in their history”, said Riccitiello.

Happy for the game and bioware but what the hell is this. He talks about the day 1 dlc like it is the event of the year. What about the 60% of the people who bought the game at launch day *full price* and didn't get to experience the supposedly full game. Ahh well.

This will encourage them to do shit like this again...and again.

Yep. Am going to wait for the GOTY edition just like i did for ME2. Also costs 1/3 of the launch day price.

Nice. This will sell very well in the long run, despite all the recent controversies and fan backslash.

Impressive numbers. 1.5m week one total? Anyway, I hope EA and Bioware don't milk it. (and by that I don't mean yearly releases)
