Due to political reasons, it's not in UN's and it's allies interest to step in.

How does the UN have allies?

Well technically if you think the UN serves western interests more then not you could always consider Kosovo and Taiwain allies, well and Vatican city.  just nitpicking though.

As for Syria.  Considering the results of the most recent arab revolutions... it's hard to get people invested even if there was anyone who had the time and money to waste.

The arab nations have no real reason to kick out there friend so....

They're not even members of UN and Kosovo even breaks UN Resolution 1244. But i agree UN serves western interests more

That they aren't members of the UN is the point.  Rath asked how the UN could have allies (because everybody is in it.)  The answer is, they can have allies if you think they favor one side over another and the unaffiliated nations support said side.

Well the security council balances the vote well by having China and Russian there.

The general assembly is just one vote per recognised nation so I don't know if you could call it biased either.

The Arab nations don't consider Syria a friend. Syria is a friend of Iran which is Persian not Arab. The only Arab nation to be friendly with Syria is Lebanon through Hezbollah.

Edit: And my debating skills are likely down the drain as I have had too many beers tonight, forgive me =P

im from jordan (bordering country with syria) and i want the USA to interfere because of all this violence going on in syria and how it should be stopped plus id feel safer if USA controls syria for a while

Oh I know, I was just playing devils advocate on the allies thing.  Really if anything the general assembly has taken a decididly anti-west position lately.  What with the one group. Who's name i forget, that basically exists just to have all their votes united and go against western interests.

You say the Persians (Iranians nowadays for those who don't know) are always trying to take over the Middle East and yet whenever I look at recent the Middle Eastern history I see no proof of that. The only ally they have are the Arab Hezbollah because of the Shia Islam relation and they have strategic parterships with the Syrian Assad regime and Hamas due to a common foe. Hamas are Sunni and support the Syrian uprising (they've left Syria now) and only really allied to Iran out of necessity but ideologically they are not so close. I see a hell of a lot of American domination over the past 60 odd years (though less now than before) but Iran with their small defense budget (less than 2%- lowest in the region), dated military and middle income economy vs the US, UK, France, Israel and the GCC and their state of the art military and advanced economies? No chance.
