My question is simple, why is Nintendo generally ignored when it comes to Japanese games?

are you serious? Nintendo is( or was) the main enemy of the western market. Most hate directly stems from Nintendo

No but typically when talking about Japanese games, such as the lackluster TGS, which Nintendo doesn't appear, statements are said about the whole market. It is like they state it, while ignoring Nintendo specifically. It is like talking about shooters and ignoring Activision (Sales) or Valve (Quality).

just the angenda at work. Western developers hate Nintendo games and would rather see these games that took half the budget but 4 times the sells bomb.

Very ignorant a hole

It's strange. I think what happens psychologically is that you look at the exceptional one and dismiss it as an exception. The rules clearly don't apply to Nintendo, so there's no point in bringing up Nintendo when discussing the rules. The error is that the exceptional ones are just as much a part of the system as the more ordinary examples.

You see this kind of thing elsewhere. Analysts are starting to cut Apple out of their market analysis. The company is huge yet still growing so rapidly, and so the analysts say it's distorting the picture of the market as a whole. They then proceed to paint a bleak picture of market performance. Well of course things look bleak, you just sliced the biggest engine of growth completely out of the picture!

Again it is something that seems kind of silly, as competitors do rise to the top. Even while ignoring Nintendo, companies shouldn't ignore the great efforts made by organizations such as Level-5, that have done wonderful in the west.

I hope people take this into account when deciding to purchase his game. I would never give my money to someone who puts down someones work. The Japanese Dev probably put a lot of effort into it. Jerk!

That's silly. A game should be judged on its merits, not on those of its creator.

Not entirely - If a Developer believes something you disagree with and his enforces that belief should you support it.?

I will support it if the product is of good quality. I don't agree with the developers beliefs but it has nothing to do with the game he is making or his vision behind that game (which he himself states is inspired by the likes of Legend Of Zelda & 2D mario games).

Sorry... this is weak answer. It reminds me of the ppl who bitch and whine about EA/Activision .. but the minute they release that harbors the elements they claim they hate they still rush out and by it. Then you ask: I thought you hated EA? " oh well ummm ... I hate the company but the games they make are cool .. or I just wont support the part I hate".... yea.

I wouldn't support anybody thart does not a healthy mindset about this industry. Thats just me though.

So buying a game if it looks good even if you hate the person making it is weak?

Hardly...the opposite is weak. It's very weak willed of you if you let the hate of a company blind you from experiencing a good game.

See my post above. He uses Zelda as an example, so he's not entirely ignoring Nintendo

A lot of people enjoyed Zelda, and it is a great game (Do remember he said Japanese games suck, which would imply that they are flat out bad games), personally I think west rather praise Call of Duty or Battlefield, games which really share similar complaints as Zelda does.

What about the highest rated game this generation, why is that ignored, wait did I say highest rated game, I meant the two highest rated game this generation.

Just what I was about to say.
