As the title says, Ys: Oath in Felghana has been added to the Steam registry recently. For those of you who aren't familiar with the title, Ys is a long-running ARPG series. The action tends to be fast-paced, the stories are serviceable but not the focus, and the challenge can be set by the player to anything from "brisk" to "WTF."

Oath in Felghana is a remake of the third game in the series, although nearly each game in the series stands alone; knowledge of previous titles is not necessary. It was released in Japan in 2005, and released on the PSP in America several years later. Most importantly, it's a fun game with some kick-ass music.

So yeah, I'm excited at this news, even though I've played the game already. If you're at all into action games or ARPGs, you should check it out. Or if you just like the music, you can buy it off iTunes. With luck, more Falcom games will follow!

I have, and yes it is. It'll be a steal at $20, if you like ARPGs.

I don't remember the exact time, but I'd put it around 10 hours for the first playthrough, give or take two hours. It's not especially long, but it's not super short either. Beating it also unlocks harder and harder (and harder yet!) difficulties, if you really get into it.

Nice... now please give us Ys 7 on Steam! Making that game a PSP exclusive was the dumbest move Falcom could make.
