won't happen. however one or more of the next gen consoles might have steam integrated.
the xbox and xbox 360 were basically PCs so why any article about the PS being one is nothing special.
upgradable consoles would be near pointless why people think its a good idea to sell a console for $400 then 2 years later sell a better part in it for $200 just to play future games needs to have their heads checked.
what should happen
xbox/ps4 should have a steam section, steam PC games could be played from console anything bought on steam PC could run on console or vice versa.. doubt wii u will have steam it's nintendo doing their casual thing.
This would be a dream come true. Steam + Valve Exclusivity.
If this would be true I could understand Sony using a x86 Cpu. This would mean all PC Titles available right from the start.

Out of the big three (and the PC), Sony and their Playstation got the most flack from Valve this gen for their developer solutions or lack thereof as well as marketing strategies and some economic moves. With Valve on the rise and bigger and better than ever before I can't see them teaming up with a massive company that has suffered some of the biggest fiscal losses in the industry lately and have crashed headlong from the throne they once sat upon. I like the notion though! Personally, I hope Valve keeps focusing on the PC, they seem to be the only developer today who remember their roots and give thanks and pay homage to it daily through their services and work. |
Hey hey hey HEY.
CDProjekt is awesome.

Holy shit! How could I forget...
I've probably spent over two hundred dollars at GOG and I adore their games! I stand corrected!
PlayStation Stream sounds better... don't like the word steam...

Source?
Yay!!!

If only I had a move ;;. Steam Machine cause of Daft Punk's song. It'd have an anthem already premade for it lol.
All of this, of course, is just my opinion.
Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.
the problem with a steam/valve system exclusive is it won't have some of the big titles that gamers want.
EA games will be on origin only now, there is also games for windows live.
i don't see a console being made that won't have any EA games tbh, they have too big a share of the market. i mean, what is a console without battlefield?
also valve doesn't really make games much. they are like blizzard and have 3-4 titles that people fall in love with for some reason.
anyways if anything they will just partner with sony or MS or both, it won't be one console with steam exclusivity

Hmm? Valve and Sony settled their beef with that E3 speech by Gaben. Remember that?
Anyway, I fully expect the Gabestation to be arriving the day after it's E3 2012 reveal, with HL3 as an exclusive day one launch title. Gabe's recent beard growth practically confirms it.
