Anyone who thinks that MS and Sony don't strongly consider and worry about Nintendo when considering their respective gaming businesses is very narrow minded and delusional. Especially after Sony and MS blatantly copied Nintendo's path into motion and casual gaming space.

I guarantee you without a doubt MS and Sony watched WiiU's unfolding last E3 very carefully and then had many meetings regarding tablet controllers based on their existing plan for their next consoles and progression of Kinect and Move respectively. Additionally, their planned power levels (cpu/gpu) are definitely taking into consideration of what they think Nintendo as well as each other are doing.

Even if Reggie and Nintendo by large brush off talks about competitors as if they don't care, that's just PR. They do and will always keep them in mind to some degree.


read what you highlighted, i stand ferm with Sony and MS dont care what HE does, i didnt say Nintendo. 

Who the hell was talking about what "Reggie" does? He was referring to what Nintendo does.

think you need to go back and watch the video, he is refering to sony and Ms worry about what HE does.

Lol @ all the people raging over Reggie's 'arrogance' when it's blatantly obvious he's referring to Nintendo as a company when talking about 'his' this and 'his' that. Company representatives talk like that all the time all across every field and industry. I mean, come on.

microsoft invented the apps, hd & 3rd party deals confirmed!  

 All companies adopt successful business practices, I can not see why any of the three would be any different.

Didn't say they invented it, but MS have been the ones (as well as Sony) to make it successful in the console space.

I'm a Nintendo fan and am not raging.  I just thought that his choice of words made him look bad. 

It makes him look like he thinks that Nintendo is HIS company.

What is the context of this video?

As far as what Reggie says:

1. Brazil has just short of 200M people (194M). It should become a big market. He talked about working with retailers (who have to work with those in power) to make it (allow it) to happen.

2. As far as competitors, the closing comment was coy. But it is true that Nintendo does start different tech and then others incorporate that innovation in some way into their products. His point is that he/NIntendo was going to focus on what he/Nintendo is doing and not worry about what others are doing. I think people are losing what is saying in how he said it. (The possessive probably should have been plural -- OUR rather than MY, but that is just my thought).

Huh I caught on to the whole my thing too. Reggie you are President of NOA but these are not your products you should refer to them as our like you usually do. I wonder what was up with the whole my thing, is it because he wants people to think he is the one in charge?

I don't think this was arrogance but Reggie is not Nintendo. He works for Nintendo and Nintendo is not a one man operation. If I was Nintendo's higher ups I would be asking him to tone down on this whole my thing.
