Oh so true.
Also, don't Sony already sell PS2s in Brazil? If so, how is it an example of Sony copying Nintendo?
copy? more like added to me. he should visit that Rol thread. Rol, fax that thread to Reggie, and may be then he'll do something like read it. then again maybe he'll have someone else do it and say he did.
i want to call Reggie delusional for some reason? not sure why at the moment, but i think it fits.
the real question is will there even be home console in; was it 5 or 10 yr.'s? damn i can't remember. ok, i'll say Reggie's refurring to the 9th gen about Brazil then.
Reggie sure has high expectations for Wiiu, but i think Vita and 3DS launches proved the (imo) world isn't ready for new consoles.

Not even the "awesome", "free" to play games? |
Nope, it's not because of taxes... it's because a stupid rating system the government have for games and apple is unwilling to use a different system than the one they use in every other place in the world.

Brazil and competitors copying Nintendo were two separate topics that were talked about. |
Ah, the thread title...and the fact I wasn't 100% listening confused me, thanks for the correction.

Officially, Sony sells everything in Brazil, even Vita. But only warranty-afficionados (yes, you can't only want official warranty you have to freaking love it) buy them from Sony. The prices are abusive beyond belief. Vita will cost 1599. That's 940 dollars!

1) Apps: Nintendo has been attempting downloadable games since 1987 http://www.n-sider.com/contentview.php?contentid=213
2) HD: Really? You're going to say they're copying by making a system that's more powerful than their previous one? I suppose the Xbox was just a copy of the PS2, and the Super Nintendo was a copy of the Genesis.
3) Third parties: They tried to court them with the Wii as well. Admittedly, their attempts didn't work very well and they're doing it better with Wii U and 3DS, but the intention was always there.
Nintendo is certainly copying their competitors in some necessary areas, such as the recently announced Nintendo Network, but those were not the best examples at all.
Nice job Reggie! Now you look like an idiot who thinks he owns Nintendo... my respect for you has dropped a few points.

What has downloadable games got to do with apps?
There is nothing wrong with Nintendo going to HD, and in itself it isn't copying, it's the lingo they keep using. They're very aware it's a major selling point (like the once argued it wasn't) and hence why reggie is coming out with 1080p like he has a clue what it means.
I don't believe they tried courting third parties tbh.
The main things they're focusing on right now are key areas of MS and Sony's strategy.

Anyone who thinks that MS and Sony don't strongly consider and worry about Nintendo when considering their respective gaming businesses is very narrow minded and delusional. Especially after Sony and MS blatantly copied Nintendo's path into motion and casual gaming space.
I guarantee you without a doubt MS and Sony watched WiiU's unfolding last E3 very carefully and then had many meetings regarding tablet controllers based on their existing plan for their next consoles and progression of Kinect and Move respectively. Additionally, their planned power levels (cpu/gpu) are definitely taking into consideration of what they think Nintendo as well as each other are doing.
Even if Reggie and Nintendo by large brush off talks about competitors as if they don't care, that's just PR. They do and will always keep them in mind to some degree.
