I have a problem with my laptop. When I am downloading some music off LimeWire (lol >_< ), LimeWire eats my Internet connection at times and I'm unable to use the Internet. I then try to use the diagnostic tool to see if I can fix the problem, but my computer is unable to do so. I am then forced to restart my laptop to use the Internet again. Ssj12, I also read on the new SP1 for Vista that the new SP will update the wireless software so you have more reliability. Would that help my Internet problem and correct it?

It's quite possible, but the main problem would seem that your laptop is actually to weak to run vista. See if you can get a downgrade to XP.

LOL? My new laptop has Vista Home Premium already on it. I could run Ultimate if I wanted to.

My old laptop, which I gave to my sister, originally had Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 on it, but I later upgraded it to Vista Home Premium, but it seems that PC is too weak for Vista. It was acting REALLY funny when it had XP (started lagging; I think the Toshiba brand laptops decay overtime, because the quality is horrible but the model was supposed to be the best [Qosmio]) and had some problems, even after I restarted it to factory default for my sister (it acted like it had a severe virus ruining the system). Plus, that laptop overheats VERY, VERY badly. It has extremely poor ventilation and makes this awful whining sound when I or my sister turn it on. I plan on buying her a better one when she graduates from high school in 2011. After I installed Vista on my old laptop, it ran fine, but then started screwing up again...and now it only messes up on me when I try to use it, but it doesn't on my sister.

Okay, I might as well tell you my problem. I'm using Vista and a 8600GT overclocked to 630/1480 to play my PC games. I have a slimline PC with a 180W PSU so the card is pretty the max I can have. Anyways, I was running a game and all of a sudden, it froze but still had sound. This was similiar to a problem I had with my old PC when I had a Geforce 4 MX440 except it froze completely and I realized the MX 440 is crap. Here I can run task manager and end the game that way and everything would be fine. This problem keeps persisting so has my graphics card broke down or is it the game? The recommended requirements for the game is a 256 MB Geforce 7300 or higher. My CPU and RAM also beat the recommended requirements.

thats a small amount of power..

but anyways, does this issue happen in other games? It could be that the video card at minimum speeds can run fine but it quickly reaches the limited amount of power needed and cuts off due to lack of power.

Well, lets see, I played Rainbow 6 Vegas and that was fine. Didn't have any problems with S.T.A.L.K.E.R., AoE III, Oblivion, and the game I'm playing now is an expansion and the original ran fine. The 8600GT I have doesn't use a lot of power anyways and I know someone with the same card and same computer with a higher overclock and he's running Crysis.

check some connectors, drivers, etc. It just sounds like a minor issue like that. Also make sure Direct X is up to date.

are you overclocking the card or is it overclocked out of the box??? and if you can get a bigger powersupply do it! I cat imagine anythong under 300 to 350 being ideal but like you said slimline pc what kinda of processor cpu???

its cheaper sometime to buy one with what you want then build it. I would say a 6600 quad core and a low end mother board a couple gigs of ram and if you can stick to windows xp, vista is a resource hog! probably run around 260 for cpu and ou can get a low end motherboard for 80-100 the ram probably around 100 so thats 460 you can find complete pc with loads of other crap for under a grand so its really what you want!

Ok, I'm having a problem which is confusing the hell out of me. Every once in a while, youtube videos start freezing on me at 2 seconds and refuse to play. I have searched the internet for solutions but to no avail.

Anyone have a solution for this annoying as hell error?

And I thought I was the only one. I have no idea what causes it but it only happens sometimes and it affects not only youtube, but other websites (like gametrailers) as well.

Perhaps you got other downloads or games running?
With them on, the buffering of the vidieo's can be very slow.

I believe it's a Firefox problem...I've had that happen to me as well.  Usually restarting Firefox fixed it.

I have a problem:  I have XP Pro, and my screensaver doesn't turn on automatically.  I'm guessing I have some program like a media thing preventing it from turning on, but it's freaking annoying to leave my PC, come back 5 hours later and see my monitor on, right where I left it.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Okay, this isn't really a problem but a question.
I currently have 2 GB RAM dual channel and want to upgrade to 2 * 2GB sticks. However I was told that isn't possible. I want to know why not?

Here is the current RAM I have now.

DDR2
Module size: 1024 Mbytes.
Max Bandwidth: PC2-5300 (333 MHz)

its a matter of how much ram the motherboard supports. Dont listen to people saying that XP doesnt support 4GB of ram. Thats BS. XP jsut doesnt count past like 3.7GBs of ram. You could have 16GBs of ram and only have it read as 3.7GBs.

wait a minute... didn't you just say my motherboard couldn't support 2GB sticks?
He didn't necessarily say that - that is just a factor to consider when you are looking to buy ram. Check your motherboard's/computer's manual.  When did you buy your computer/motherboard?
Simple solution: go to Crucial Memory's website http://www.crucial.com and run the memory scanner. this will tell you what your motherboard is capable of handling. XP can take up to 4GB of system RAM (this is independent of the video card memory), but will only count between 3.3 and 3.7 of it. This is ok, because you will still see significant performance gains.

Have you tried upgrading to the most recent version of Flash player, or reinstalling Flash if it's already the most recent?
