Looks like dead on 1m first week alligned then.

Wouldn't that mean the product is overtracked?

overtracked? What do you mean?

They say it's at 1.2m+ WW LTD

First week is that minus what it's done in Japan and Hong Kong ect after their first week, that's 250k in Japan (320k FW, 570k now) and 100k in HK and wherever else it released (30k FW, 140k now)

So alligned it looks like under 1m

I meant this article:  http://www.vgchartz.com/article/88858/ps-vita-reaches-14m-install-base-after-successful-global-launch/

Well not by much, 100k - 200k

480k - 530k USA + Europe launch (and the other asian countries it launched in last week)

Two statments: 1. Wouldn't that mean 1.2ish - 250k (Total Not First Week Japan) -100k (Total Not First Week HK) = 850kish (meaning + or - 50k at most) For Launch

2. That would mean overtracked rate of about above 20%? Do remember this is most likely shipment data as well. Not saying 1.2 million globally is wrong, but maybe vgchartz jumped on the launch figures. (assuming the article related to launch figures....I didn't even factor in week 0 btw)

Add: Let just say Week 0 = the Ish part of 1.2ish.

Yeah that looks correct, 850k

Well they were estimates, we're not far off. I do think Sony mean sold though, think I read that somewhere.

Oh if they were estimates my bad, I thought they were the vgchartz legit first week data for US and Europe combined with Japanese and HK first week.

"Software sales across the globe have surpassed 2 million units at both retail and on PlayStation Network."

Does that mean 2 million units combined or 2 million at retail and 2 million at PSN for a total of 4 million?

Likely both, as it's a shipped figure

I don't think so.

The 1.2m in hardware must be sellthrough, because as shipments that would be disastrous. Following that, the 2m in software must be sellthrough as well, because for shipment numbers that would be far too low. A tie ratio of above 1.5 is reasonable, considering that this includes download only titles like Super Stardust Delta which sell for a smaller price.

Yeah, I didn't realise Vita SW was as high as it is, probably 1.2/1.3m when you factor in digital. (Minus this launch of course)

Honestly speaking Seece I think both will be shipped figures (like always with Sony), but we won't know until April now. (Well for the USA we might get lucky in March, if NPD gives actual sales).

Well if that's shipped it's catastrophic. I mean, there's probably 700k in japan alone. Plus rest of asia (how many were sold there, anyway?)

If it's sold, solid numbers!

Not sure what the sell through would be on shipped, but that'd suggest well under 500k sell through in these countries - North and Latin America, Europe and PAL territories as well as in Singapore

Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea are at 720k sell through, probably 750k shipped, so 450k - 500k shipped to those other countries above, it'd suggest something like a 400k sell through, that's just too low imo, it's less than 200k in Europe and the US!

I just find it strange that would release sell through numbers without fully stating sell through.

I guess, those would be pretty bad numbers though.

We will know the launch when Nintendo does that thing they do. Also Sony needs to be better at giving data.
